Yes, it's 8-0 versus 8-0 for the Class A, District 5 title.
It's 339 points scored (Fort Meade) vs. 325 (IRC).
But mostly, IRC needs it's own thread for the smack talk. I have counted 2,319 comments posted saying IRC will rock Fort Meade's world since Friday. So let's get it on. I'll start by borrowing this comment by Tim The Realist:

The best thing about this game is that now all those Eagle nation goof balls will stop blogging about being the best team in the state, although we will probably have to still hear about them being the best team in Pinellas County until the 1st round of the playoffs

IRC doesn't deserve to be ranked except in 1A, where they play. They are a good squad and showed a lot of character and heart keeping it close with Fort Meade. Much props for that.

IRC cannot play with the big boys of the area. Out of approximately 70 locals teams, they are probably 50th. Its not because they "suck", its because they are a tiny school and don't have the depth or size to deal with schools from larger classifications.

anyone who was there knows it was nothing close to a butt whooping......here's my question cotey, ccc beat tc 9-6, but lost to fm 43-7, irc lost to fm 15-2, this being said, does irc deserve the have a better ranking than tc or is tc just overrated?

If FM insists that somebody from IRC did make those types of comments, the community should expect (and demand) nothing less than Mike Hayde, Archie Gale and Art Martinez going on the record by filing a complaint with FHSAA and IRCS. If FM is unwilling to do so, stop making the accusations using the "race" issue.

The jokes about trailers, plumbing and illiteracy were funny but there is NOTHING okay about calling people racists since there is no defense once the lable has been afixed to somebody undeservingly.

its a shame you (FM) didn't get to play Northside a second time last year. now THAT would have been a good football game.

I PLAYED for Fm and the 12:30 comment where the players called our own players "Monkeys" happens to be a true statement!!
Only because a fight did not take place, doesnt mean nothing was said! There were some definant racial and uncalled for remarks made, and for what reason i do not kno!
We(FM) live and die as a team this year, and we have no reason to lower ourselfs to fighting a number 3 team, that did play us well(Ill give them that much) and giving into exatly what they(as in mostly the fans) want!
We have bigger and better things to attend to! If that means playing IRC again, I look forward to it! Not with any animosity, but out of strong competitive will to out-do our performace of this past game!!!

I was at the games the teams are not as even as you might think. FM played their worst offensive game of the year. IRC lacks speed on defense to stop FM when they are playing halfway decent. IRC is a good ball club but not at FM level yet. Good news for IRC is it is looking like you will get another shot at FM. The frst round playoff game should at glades is winnable for you guys. Then you get to travel to the BattleField, and expiernce a true polk county beatdown...

The above post is nothing but lies! It is easy to cast dispersions without facts. Is there anybody who thinks that if the FM players were called "monkeys" by some of the IRC players that complete chaos would not have errupted? There would have been some sort of scene.

Can I say, "I heard two FM players talking about stabbing an IRC coach. Then in the parking lot some FM poeple were smoking something (not cigarettes!)"? See how easy this is!

Blame the refs...anyone at the game knows that those two teams are pretty evenly matched and it was not the refs that caused it to be close.

BTW, lets stop judging who is or who is not a good Christian within the blogosphere. That is a call that is left to somebody who is certainly none of us. Christians are not perfect just forgiven.

To all IRC fans and players, you are a big disgrace to a Christian school. Your fans were making racial and derogatory statements towards FM players, students and fans all night. Then after the game was over, (by the way the game should have never been that close, thank the refs for that one..) while the teams were going down mid field in the "SPORTSMANSHIP LINE" four of your beloved IRC eagles were heard calling some FM players monkeys. Thats real christain like. Then to top it all of while FM players were still on the field one of your fans said and I qoute " I can't believe we lost to a team full of thugs and trash" How pitiful can you be. FM is a legit 28 points better than this team. Now as district runner-up, let me say that agian district runner-up, you have to travel down to Glades day. Hopefully you can find a way to beat them. Then yu travel over to little ol FM and play in our house. Oh and by the way the bathrooms at the field have indoor plumming.

Well, I don't live in FM (try North Tampa)but I have been there many times and I know that town like the back of my hand and the town doesn't lack basic amenities. Obviously you are an arrogant IRC fan that has to resort to personal attacks and region bashing in order to maintain your plummeting self esteem. Maybe you live in a beautiful waterfront home, but at least the people of Fort Meade don't lower themselves to level that you have stooped to. Your team lost, get over it, and enjoy your last win next week because you will get taken care of in the playoffs.

In fact, I do take pride in my house with a foundation. I have been to Ft. Meade a number of times. And I know that some of FM has indoor plumbing now and I hear they also got one of those talking picture show theaters...

Hey 12:37, have you ever been to FM? there are more houses with "foundations" (which you seem to take pride in, I live in a very nice house with a foundation too) than there are trailer parks. For a Christian school, you certainly represent yourselves very well. And P.S., indoor plumbing isn't only found in Largo.

Yes Eagle fan (player,coach, or whatever) FM did have a lot of penalties, although no personal fouls or unsportsmanlike (normally attributed to cheap shot penalties), I'm glad to see that Eagle Nation is satisfied with moral victories where their offense doesn't score a point. That attitude will take the IRC to the top for sure. So congratulate yourself that you once again lost to a superior team on your home turf, and don't forget that you got smacked out of the first round last year after being runner up to FM.

Ahhh, even though we lost, we get to return to our houses with a foundation. Thanks for coming to Largo Miner fans. We hope you were able to enjoy the indoor plumbing!

Don't attempt to change the subject away from your stupidity. You tried to talk smack, got slapped like a rented mule! Okay, IRC lost tonight, stinks but true. However, people who know football will have to admit that they played FM better than expected and proved the are a force.

Have you ever considered that the posts regarding FM over the week were designed to take them out of their game by making them angry. Those at the game will attest that FM had a lot of penalties and did not play like the focused machine they normally are likely because they wanted to take shots at IRC for all of the locker room hype over the blog posts. Just a thought for those of you with any intelligence.

Congratulations Fort Meade! Thanks for putting these IRC fans to sleep once and for all. Now maybe the Bay area can get back to focusing on the real teams in Pinellas and Hillsborough, oops, that's right, we never cared about little IRC.

If it's typical sarcasm (right, more like typical arrogance), then there's a lot of sarcasm from IRC fans on this blog (try trailer trash, Ft. Mush, and cracks on country women). And pardon me, I meant all 5 IRC fans that constantly comment on these threads, maybe I should make that 6. Hey 11:25, SPT created this thread because IRC fans thought they owned the blog on the top 50 teams and practically 90% of the posts were 5 fans posting about how great IRC is. Tonight just proved that IRC is a good small school but couldn't hang with any team with size (which Fort Meade doesn't have either).

I was referring to the Oct. 27, 6:30pm post that said IRC was willing to take on any Hillsborough County team including Armwood, and yes you are right, there are many arrogant IRC fans, I was at tonight's game and they aren't the classiest.
