Marve appeals Miami; USF, UCF allowed
Former Plant quarterback Robert Marve had his chance to appeal his case to a University of Miami appeals board, hoping they would ease the restrictions on his transfer.
A three-person non-athletic appeals board ruled that Marve, who started 11 of the Hurricanes' 13 games as a redshirt freshman, will be now allowed to transfer to USF or UCF, but the ban to transfer to SEC schools Florida, Tennessee and LSU was upheld, his father Eugene confirmed to the Times via text message late Thursday night.
"This is correct," Marve said in the text, ending it with a " :( "
The Marves were hoping that the appeals board would relax restrictions on Marve's transfer. When he was granted a release from Miami, the school wouldn't allow Marve to transfer to a school in the ACC, SEC or any of the four other Division I state schools (USF, UCF, FAU, FIU).
Last weekend, the stipulations were relaxed to allow Marve to transfer to all SEC schools with the exception of Florida, Tennessee and LSU. The school suggested that a member of the Marve family or someone representing Marve had contact with those school before his release was granted.
With the spring semester approaching at many colleges, time is becoming a factor for Marve. He could choose to enroll at one of the allowed schools now, or he could take classes locally, perhaps at HCC,to give him more time to make a decision on his transfer.

Whitey/In the Know/Black and Gold,
This is worse than listening to three middle school girls fight. Please write articles with some substance. I enjoyed reading from all of you(except BlackandGold) until this blog took a different, unfocused path.

Whitey:
You know the AG so well, I had to put name & date of article about Jacory Harris for you to find.
Yeah...like anyone on this blog believes your an "insider".
Good night Forest!!!Put away you coloring books & safety scissors before sleeptime!!!

BlackandGold...............when will you ever learn.
You say, and I qoute, "again, sorry Plant beat your kids team (or more likely the team you currently play on since you act like a 15 year-old), get over it."
Look, I already said it back in mid-December on the topics of "Marve Suspended For Canes Bowl Game" and "Did Dwyer Get Robbed". Any of those Plant teams wouldn't have touched us at Lakeland. My cousin plays for them right now and Plant wouldn't even touch this years team. An this years team was pretty good. It's just St. Thomas Aquinas was a National Champ, like we were a few years back.
So in final, I have enough talent to have a shiny state ring right over there on my wall. Damn, you should look at it, it's bright and shiny with the stones in it, surrounding the big orange "L". It's beautiful.
My cousin WAS gonna play over at Deerfield Beach High until Coach Fields (In The Know, that should give you a hint on me knowing the G.A at Miami) left for bigger things. Glad he moved over here to my neck of the woods, so he can play for the best high school football program in this freakin' state.
So BlackandGold, I won't expect an answer tonight cause I would think that you have to take a bath, brush your teeth, lay your school clothes out so mommy can iron them, and go to bed. We don't want you to miss the school bus in the morning.
NIGHT NIGHT, BUTTERCUP. ZZZZZzzzzzzzz

Yeah, I'm intimated by a coward punk (Whitey)whose only talent is to insult kids.
Speaking of stalking, you have a good talent at stalking kids to insult.
Again, sorry Plant beat your kids team (or more likely the team you currently play on since you act like a 15 year old), get over it.

BlackandGold: Every blog has their judge, jury & executioner type of blogger that thinks he is the "final" say in any matter. We have one of those on the high school basketball blogs. That's all Whitey is, don't take offense!
They are the ones who always identify themeselves as an"insider".. Who knows an AG, coach, asst coach, etc...you know the kind; has no friends or clue and needs to make eveyone feel he is important.
They are usually not well read and limited only to their "way of thinking". You don't want them kicked off the blogs. They are the ones who provide all of us with our daily amusement by being able to thank god we "aren't them". The funny part is they go around thinking everyone else is the idiot, when they are being laughed at, not with.
Besides, if you go over to the "Orson Charles" blog you will see that of course, since I responded back to him with name & date of article he has not responded. Nothing like the truth in a written word in an article to scare someone like him off. I'm sure this won't stop him because, unfortunately for all of us; he too stupid to be embarrassed by the truth. We should respect him....being an "insider" and all.
He is just an intellectually limited person who is blogging for everyone else's amusement....leave him alone....I need the good laughs from "Forest Gump". My momma always says "life is like a box of chocolates"......

BlackandGold, are you stalking me? You must feel really intimidated by me or something.
Please Keith, go read the Orson blog. That way you can see Ms. Goodie Too Shoes' statement about encouraging someone to kill themselves by jumping off the skyway bridge.
I could understand that I could have went to far but I'm not cause there are numerous people on these blogs that call Mr. Marve and his son losers.
It's hilarious that we have a cyber stalker by the name BlackandGold. Fellas watch out, he might be after you next. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Whitey-
This is what you've done on this blog:
1. Personally attacked Marve and his father as "losers".
2. Called his father a liar about having cancer and "dumb" as being a former NFL player without money (which is far from the truth).
3. Called his family "low class".
Thats just a few things. Whoever you are, your a bitter, pathetic little man.
Sure, Plant fans would have loved to see things work out with Robert at UM. It didn't. Is Harris better? Maybe. Was Robert treated with equity in the situation? Who knows, I wasn't there to witness it. From people I've spoken to who know him, it appears he wasn't. However, it doesn't matter. He is moving on.
Its your right to voice an opinion about the situation, but your personal attacks go way over board.
KEITH, THE TIMES SHOULD BAN WHITEY FROM THEIR BLOGS, BECAUSE ALL HE IS CAPABLE OF IS PERSONAL ATTACKS, MOSTLY AT KIDS (SEE THE ORSON CHARLES BLOG).

It's clear he used the cancer card to get sympathy.......because USF and UCF don't get any closer........'so he can play close to home and cancer striken dad can visit.' But he ends his text with a :( anyway? That doesn't make any sense if he was telling the truth.
Posted by: Tim | January 10, 2009 at 11:32 AM
BlackandGold, nice comment, the truth hurts doesn't it. I know, I know, your precious little Plant is catching some flak. It's O.K. buddy. Like I said before, it's a pretty low blow that an adult will play the sympathy card to get what he wants, then, when he gets what he wants, he's still not happy. Oh, that's right, he didn't get what he wanted. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Stick to your guns Miami, these are low-class people that will obviously do anything they can to get what they want.

BlackandGold,
You are in denial. Don't worry it is a common defense mechanism. Unfortunately it doesn't hold up very long though. Let me explain what is happening...
Your school/program did not prepare Marve for not only college football, but also college(i.e. skipping classes, getting arrested, etc..). I know he was your idol on campus when he led your team to the state title a couple years ago but, believe it or not, the image of him was slightly inflated among the South Tampa community. If I were you I would start rooting for Murray who appears to have a better head on his shoulders...

Whitey and Warren go to together like sh*t and a baby diaper. Get a life.
Posted by: BlackandGold | January 09, 2009 at 11:58 PM
They are struggling. Robert had a 2007 Dodge Charger his freshman year. That's just getting by right there.
Posted by: WarrenPeace | January 09, 2009 at 12:43 PM
An to think, Eugene is a former NFL player. How can they be "cash-strapped".
I just don't get with these dumb people.
Posted by: Whitey | January 09, 2009 at 12:40 PM
But, but Miami is being so mean to Robert. What about Eugene's cancer? What about mom and her financial problems? What about Lil Marve's sister @ Plant?
How will they see Robert play if he's right down the street playing at Ray Jay?
So the 11 mile trek to USF is not good enough, neither is the 93 mile jaunt to UCF?
However taking the 120+ mile scip to Florida the or the hop over to ennessee (560+ miles away that's good enough?
Yet Miami is the one's being petty? Randy Shannon is the one that's trying to screw this guy over?
Anyone think there will be an article that comes out that rips the Marve's about this?
I meam their number 1 issue was sick dad, cash strapped mom and wanting to be close to home. I don't see how closer you can get if your kid can play in the same area code!!!
Posted by: WarrenPeace | January 09, 2009 at 12:32 PM
I thought he wanted his son close? It doesn't get any closer than USF.
Posted by: Jim | January 09, 2009 at 11:51 AM
I agree with Whitey, the Marve family is a bunch of d-bags, I can't believe he's playing the fake cancer card, that's just wrong
Posted by: Boyd | January 09, 2009 at 11:43 AM
So let me see if I got this right, his daddy wants to cry and play the cancer card so he can "play closer to home", yet when Miami gives him permission to transfer to USF or UCF he is still not satisfied?
Hey Eugene, that away to use the "cancer
card" to get what you WANT and not what you NEED. You and your son are losers!

if he doesn't go to class and can't go by team rules he won't be a star anywhere.
