According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office report , the arresting officer states that Angelo Hadley and older brothers Aubrey, 20, and Adrian Hadley, 23, unlawfully entered a Valrico residence between Feb. 15 and 19 via an rear sliding glass door, which Angelo unlocked for his brothers. They stole assorted jewelry, cash and a shotgun, all totaling more than $17,000. The Sheriff’s Department says Angelo arranged the burglary.
According to the report, Angelo Hadley “set up the victim’s 14-year-old daughter by having intercourse with the her while the co-defendants unlawfully entered into the victim’s residence and committed the burglary.” Former Armwood quarterback and UNC signee Mywan Jackson is listed as a witness. The Sheriff’s Office would not discuss the roles or statements of any listed witnesses.
The brothers were arrested Wednesday afternoon and all three were released late Thursday after posting bonds. Angelo and Aubrey's bonds are set at $5,000 each, and Adrian's at $10,000. Angelo Hadley also was arrested April 5 and charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery with the 14-year-old girl, then was released on $15,000 bail.
Angelo Hadley’s new charges include third-degree grand theft, grand theft of a firearm and armed burglary of a dwelling with firearm possession. Conviction on third-degree felonies can result in up to five years in prison. State records show that Angelo Hadley also was arrested in October 2005 on grand theft third-degree felony and misdemeanor petty theft charges.
Armwood coach Sean Callahan declined comment. Athletic director Don Hill and principal Marc Hutek did not immediately return calls.
UNC sports information director Kevin Best confirmed via e-mail that Hadley “has been released from his national letter of intent to play football at North Carolina.”
Hadley ended his high school career as Armwood’s all-time leader in interceptions; he had a school-record 10 last year. He was a Times all-Hillsborough County first-team selection in 2008.
