Lakewood grad Louis Murphy impressing Raiders
It hasn't taken former Lakewood and Florida Gator standout Louis Murphy long to make a positive impression with the Oakland Raiders.
In fact, the fourth-round draft pick might end up starting.
New Raiders coach Tom Cable recently had this to say about Murphy, who won two national titles with the Gators, to NFL.com:
“He’s probably the surprise of our (rookie) class. He has all the makings to be a very special football player at this level — mainly because he was impressive on a daily basis. We really think we found one.”

Deep down inside I feel like Murphy is going to be special. His work eithic and his positive attitude about life is special. Yes, I am a gators fan, and I really think at another school where there aren't 20 blue chippers he would have been even more impressive. So Congrats to you Murphy and keep up the hard work and make Pinellas County proud.
