Reliever Dohmann added
The Rays made a move to bolster their bullpen depth on Monday by signing reliever Scott Dohmann, a 28-year-old righthander, to a one-year deal.
Dohmann pitched in 48 games last season, going 2-4 with one save and a 7.08 ERA. He started the season with the Rockies, was sent to Triple-A, then traded to the Royals on July 31 and nontendered after the season.
The Rays had space on their 40-man roster by releasing injured reliever Shinji Mori, who on Monday agreed to a minor-league contract. He is working his way back from a shoulder injury that forced him to miss all of last season.

How does adding a pitcher who went 2-4 with one save and a 7.08 ERA "bolster" the bullpen? Anyone?

OK Marc - I'm a few days late responding to the article about the Rays new uniform design. But let me relive some of those wonderful (and responsive - like your best ever blog count?) Devil Rays renaming days. Hold the silk screen presses - I think a new name has emerged from the recent local fray. How about renaming our team the St. Petersburg Slashers? The name combines the best of the local social scene (St. Pete police hacking away at homeless tents) with the story of the Rays' salary cut! They could even call the "creeping in" color blue - "boxcutter blue." How 'bout it?

. . . oops, almost I forgot to mention an opening day promo for the new St. Petersburg Slashers. The Slashers could give away Chuck Harmon "bobblehand" figurines. You guessed it - a box cutter in his hand! Mayor Baker could throw out the first _______ (you fill in the blank).
