Baldelli leaves game

Rays CF Rocco Baldelli left Thursday's game shortly after an awkward and forceful collision with the centerfield wall. The Rays said later he had a "right leg contusion" and was considered "day-to-day.''

Baldelli was chasing an Orlando Cabrera hit when he appeared to stumble and then hit the wall with his right knee and his upper body. He finished the inning in the field and jogged to the dugout, but went immediately to the clubhouse and was followed by trainer Ron Porterfield.

Baldelli, who has had a series of injuries in his career, was replaced by Elijah Dukes. The Rays were losing 9-0 at the time.
