Baldelli placed on disabled list

CF Rocco Baldelli was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday and replaced by Greg Norton, who has been sidelined since the end of spring training and right knee surgery. Baldelli, who strained his left hamstring, could be out as long as six weeks.

I'd think this would be a great time to give Gomes a week's worth of starts at DH and see if he can get going. He's shown he can't adjust to the once a week and pinch hitting pace he's on. Would have loved to see what he could have done against Loe, but he'll not get in tonight with Wiggy at DH to make room JOSH WILSON (????!!!!) to play 3d. I guess the Rays figure they got lucky once with one stupid Nats decision (Harris), so inevitably all Bowden decisions on infielders must be wrong. Come to think of it, Bowden did sign Guzman, traded for Soriano, and let him walk.

...and Josh Wilson had 3 hits last night. Gomes needs to go to AAA. He hasn't hit at all since last April. He is worthless right now and Durham needs all the offensive help they can get. That team is all pitching and no offense down there right now. Gomes and Cantu both belong in AAA now that Norton is back.
