Price likes Rays
Probable Rays first-round pick and Vanderbilt left-hander David Price, whose Commodores can advance to the NCAA super regional with a win over Michigan today, gave a glowing review of the Devil Rays on a conference call today.
"It's only a matter of time before they start competing for pennants," Price said. "I think they're going to have a great team. With leaders like Scott Kazmir and Carl Crawford leading a group of young, great players. It's gonna make it a lot easier and fun to play. With manager Joe Maddon, one of the great managers in baseball, theyr'e obviously a great talented team."

Hey Steve, Good call. I'd like to see him in the show this season, just so I can be happy about the bet I made three years ago coming true next year. Then again, remember Doug Waechter? Maybe the way to go would be the way the Giants went with Lincecum. Let him run the minors and then see what he's got in spring when he's settled and the arm is reloaded. Your thoughts?

Price lost his 1st game last night. He was brought on in relief on only 2 days rest!College coaches are selfish! He NEVER should've been brought in.Luckily,he only pitched 1 inning. In a way I'm glad Vanderbilt lost. Now Price has ended his college season with just 125 innings.Last year between college and the National team he pitched 150 innings. After signing,he should have no problem pitching about 50 innings in the minors for us,which would give him about 175 innings this year total.
