Teen: Dukes got me pregnant

A 17-year-old foster girl living with a relative of Elijah Dukes has told police the Rays outfielder got her pregnant. Read an early edition of the story here.

The rotten apple doesn't fall far from the integrity-free tree. Here's what Dukes' mother had to say about her cretinous son impregnating a foster child:

"Everytime one of those whores lays down with my baby, they end up pregnant."

I'm with Bill -- I refuse to spend one dime on anything connected with the Rays until they dump this loser.

I'll post what I posted on another blog, only because it looks like it'd more appropriate here, so I apologize for the redundancy:

Why do we feel the need to constantly bash a guy who's not horrible in the field? If I go around and impregnate every woman I see, no one would care except the women carrying my children. You know why? Cause I'm a nobody. Just because you know his name doesn't give you the right to judge him for his personal life. The keyword in that sentence is "personal". If I pryed into someone's life like this, I'd have a restraining order put against me. This type of coverage is an insult to people with some sort of intelligence and a waste of space.

What we really need to be focusing on is Maddon's insistance on keeping an atrocious player like Edwin Jackson in the line up. Before last night, it was plain awful, 0-7, 7.+ ERA in 13 starts. And after his start last night, he's now 0-8, 8.20 ERA...I guess 5 runs in the first inning and only one out before being pulled will do that to you. He's now sunk to a new level of suckdom that's unfathomable. Yeah, his heat was 98+MPH, but that doesn't justify his inability to play the game. It's a crime to leave him in the rotation, and someone should pay for it.

And yet, we continue wasting time on a decent player who had some sexual indiscretions (OK, so that's being nice; this is a public forum, after all). However, we did nothing to Bill Clinton for doing the same thing (yeah, he was impeached, but that was farce as well), yet he was the greatest president of my lifetime. Let people's personal lives remain just that, personal, and report on bigger problems with the team, such as being the lowest paid franchise (Roger Clemens' salary this year alone ($28.4M) is more than the entire Rays' payroll ($24M)), marketing to areas 100+ miles away in hopes they'll come (people won't drive here from Tampa, why expect Brooksville, Ft. Myers, or Orlando residents to come?), and dealing with the pitching problems (they're getting better, but people like Jackson should be remanded to Princeton (WV, our A team) for all eternity), not someone's sex life. Grow up; this is the 21st Century and yes, people will have sex outside marriage. It's about time the media realized it and left it alone.

Get this guy a vasectomy. Jesus, Mary and Joseph. If he keeps up this way, he will have 12 kids by the time he's 30
How about we start "Pass the Hat for Duke's Vasectomy" at the next game.
Or even better- a promotion. "Trojan Night at the Trop"

John (former Rays fan)

Katrina, you must realize there is a thing in life called responsibility. Hopefully, your brother will learn this lesson before it is too late. Instead of blaming the woman who have become pregnant by your brother, maybe you should suggest he get a vasectomy. Five children, that we know about, is enough for any person---especially a 22 year old. Let us think of these children. Do you think putting down their mothers are going to be good for these kids. I think not. It is obvious your brother has had a hard time growing up, but many people have had it much worse--- and made it. Therefore, enough with the excuses. Time to grow up Mr. Dukes, you are an adult---act like it. As for his professional career, it is obvious that it is time for him to go somewhere else. Here in this community, we all will pray for him. However, he has disrespected the community, the organization and most importantly---himself. It seems like he never had a male role model in his life to teach him right from wrong. For this, I am sorry. It is my greatest hope he can get help, and find his inner peace. For you Katrina, I ask that you pray for him---and do not look to place the blame elsewhere. He is a man. He must act like a man. If not, he will forever be just another immature, petulant, childlike and irresponsible punk. I pray for him, and wish him the best in his endevours. All the best! Good luck!

give it a rest you guys this is killing my mother..... and hurting our family to see that once my brother finally made it this is what he gets..... he did it right? let him deal with it! be easy! let him tell it to the world not the media.... one side of the story always find the best interest huh? it will get better bro. i love you dude

Katrina (Sister)

Know this everyone, my brother Elijah has come a long way! The things that he's starting to see in his life, is something at one point only he could just dream and speak out loud on! Him being as young as he is speaks for itself.... there's no way possible after all of these years it's time for us to give up on him.... he seems to remain quiet when it's most critical for him to speak up and tell his side of each and every one of these allegations...... all of a sudden....every other month someone is coming up pregnant once they find out he's playing professional baseball and making a lil change that others could only now still dream about..... if it is in deed the allegations are true, how come these woman (girls) won't try to seat and talk with him and not the media......??????? please answer me this fans? i am not trying to defend my brother, but from what we talk about he's constantly saying he was told not to comment due to the media and how things could be squared around.... meaning, you give a statement (which i have numerous of times) and they will change it up to best interest their concerned readers and competitors...... all i'm trying to say is that once you make it big everyone you lay or hang out with ELIJAH i'm talking to you sweetie...... wants a piece of the pie..... your EX wife proved that to me over numerous phone
conversations..... let's be smart.... pack up leave this behind us and get a new start like mommy said and we will remain together... this will eventually break us..... it's up to us sweetie to have it make us!!!!! Sorry, some of you fans feel the way you do about my brother, but if we could contact the media and tell them everything that has happened before his move to the majors alot of you would and will sympathize as much as we do (his immediate family)! Katrina

Seriously Bill, what does that accomplish? It's not like the Rays realize the statement you're making with a few empty seats, or that Dukes is going to jump into the stands and tear your children to pieces with his teeth if you do go.

Go and support the team. This is baseball, not morality camp. No one will force you to cheer for Dukes if he's in the lineup.

Joe

I guess this is what Gary Sheffield had in mind with his comments last week.

Bill

Hopefully this will get the Rays to get this guy out of town. I have vowed, and haven't, not to go or take my family to any games ever since he threatened his children.

Mark

You've gotta be kidding me..

CTWM

When did Shawn Kemp try out baseball?
