No Delmon on Tuesday
Given the exchange of words last month, it would have been interesting to see any interaction between Rays LF Carl Crawford and ex-Rays RF Delmon Young on Tuesday when the Rays and Twins meet for the first time this spring at St. Petersburg's Progress Energy Park.
But according to the travel roster posted in the Twins clubhouse Monday, Young is not going to make the trip from Fort Myers. This is the only time the Twins are scheduled to play in St. Pete during the spring, and their only regular-season visit isn't until late September.
The Rays do play the Twins in Fort Myers twice more - March 11 and 26, and in Minnesota when it counts April 16-17.
Ex-Ray Brendan Harris is also not scheduled to make the trip, though former Rays minor-leaguer Jason Pridie is.
Also, Gibbs High product Boof Bonser will start for Minnesota.

Delmon Young is Willie Beamin' to be out of St. Pete and looking forward to a great career in a town that appreciates hard work. He has already learned some valuable life lessons with an organization that embraces young men who may have had a difficult time in an organization that may only now be beginning to find its own way. This move is exactly what DY needed so let's wish him the best. Forgotten Fact: Delmon Young played in all 162 games in 2007!

I got a great seat for tomorrow's game just for this event. It would figure he would chicken out. I am sure he will be a man and show up when the Rays travel to Fort Myersand he is on home turf. I would have had a sign too that said 'Shut Up Delmon And Play Ball' Chicken.

He's lucky he's not going to be there. I was going to hold up a sign that said, "Delmon, you may be beautiful to look at, but you've got a rotten soul." The fun we would have had!
