Rays-Yanks, the (early) morning after
The New York tabloids made a big deal of Wednesday's controversies as well, though not quite as big as further discovery of the Gov. Spitzer scandal.
Below is the back page lead-in to the coverage in the Daily News, including a column by Bill Madden on Yankees manager Joe Girardi's position.
And here are links to some other articles from Newsday, the New York Times and the New York Post, including a column by Joel Sherman, who writes:
"Out of nowhere the longtime AL East doormats have taken the Devil out of their name and put it into their game. The Rays want to be taken seriously as a burgeoning contender, a team ready to go toe-to-toe in every way. The Rays are sick and tired of being second-class citizens in their own region to the spring-break Yankees. And they are not going to take it anymore."

Tamps has enough being doormats? Well gee, I can say the same about Yankees who get hit constantly and don't take revenge.
Works both ways ignorant morons. Have fun being bottom dwellers Tampa, all you will ever be.
Gomes won't be going to the next Rays/Yankee ST game, wussbag. Attack from behind then cower.
Bring your Bullpen Tampa when the season starts, you will need it.

Certainly is the Yankee way of doing things. Remember A-Rod slapping the ball out of Arroyo's glove?
It was bush league and uncalled-for. And a backup outfielder shouldn't speak up or retalliate like this.

When James Shields just happens to send a 95-mph fastball Duncan's way, and it just happens to break his jaw, I'm SURE it will be because it "got away from him."
Aside from Greg Oden, Shelley Duncan is the only rookie in the world who looks like he's 40 years old.
Completely different than Elliot Johnson's play, and in all seriousness I hope the Rays respond by wiping the floor with the Yankees this year.

thanks for the links to the oposing view point articles. I hope you make that a regular feature. It is always nice to see how the team is being precieved in other markets.

If you look at the poll on the Daily News site the majority of people voted that it was uncalled for. Don't expect to hear Jeter commending Shelley on his hustle.

Uncalled for and dirty. Not the "Yankee" way of doing things.
