Price check

LHP David Price finally got to make his pro debut on Thursday - delayed 90 minutes by rain after everything else - and got off to a good start for advanced Class A Vero Beach, allowing only three hits (all singles) and a walk in five shutout innings, while striking out four and was hitting 94 mph in his last inning.

By the way, Triple- A Durham beat 17-3 and 1B Chris Richard was 4-for-6 with 7 RBIs. Mike Difelice also had four hits.

Sonnanstine gives you what you expect from a #4-#5 starter. He really gives you 1 excellent outing in every 2 starts, but has gotten helped out by clutch hitting in a few of his lesser quality games.

The entire staff is doing a great job.

agreed

Pena has the 18th highest batting average on the team. COmpare his stats to Hinkse and they aren't even close. Pena needs to be moved down or given a LONG rest.

We need to add another young arm to help percival in the bullpen and how why is Pena still batting fourth?

bereal

Let's be honest, Sonnanstine is doing well but he definately doesn't have the dominating tools(and the ERA's show this) that the others have. He is a fantastic pitcher, the defense is on their toes and ready to play. However, in general, he's going to give you 7 innings were game of 3 or 4 runs allowed. That's very good on many levels. However, in the end, he will be great out of the bullpen in the future........he's going to come in, not walk people, make them put the ball in play, and he's good control will be great for a middle reliever.

JK

NO 6 man rotation...thats just absurd..And Sonny needs to keep starting..Hes 6-2.Yeah he got blown out his last start but that happens.. They want to pitch more..They dont want a 6th starter to be in there messing up the rotation..That will NEVER happen

skp

i say once this kid gets to the MLB we switch to a 6-man rotation....protect the young arms with fewer outings\innings per year, these guys look like an automatic 7+ innings most nights anyways, so a smaller bullpen is possible with sonny being the first choice for the current "hammel role" of long reliever who's only needed in emergencies and blowouts....

Bob Barker

The Price is Right, this kid will bring me out of retirement to sing "take me out to the ballgame" if asked, just to see him.
