Pena, Baldelli in Sarasota
1B Carlos Pena will join Rocco Baldelli in Vero Beach Devil Rays uniforms on Thursday night in Sarasota. Pena, apparently recovered enough from his June 3 fractured left index finger, will be the DH for what he expects to be a one-game rehab appearance to help regain his timing. He hopes to rejoin the Rays on Friday in Pittsburgh.
Baldelli, who was the DH for Vero on Wednesday, is scheduled to be used as a pinch-hitter.
Game time is 7 p.m. at Ed Smith Stadium.
