Charges dropped against Reyes
TAMPA -- Prosecutors have dropped the criminal charges against Tampa Bay Rays reliever Al Reyes.
In April, Tampa police accused Reyes of committing an affray after an incident at a South Tampa bar.
Police said Reyes, who was celebrating his 38th birthday, became drunk and disruptive at 2:30 a.m. at the Hyde Park Cafe. Police accused him of picking a fight and spitting blood at patrons of the club. He was twice Tasered.
After the incident, Reyes issued a public apology.
His attorney, Robert Heyman, said Reyes was happy to hear of the prosecutors' decision.
"I commend them for doing the right thing, and my client is very pleased with the outcome," Heyman said.

I'm not really anti-Robert Heyman. I was just on his website, which is quite high tech. He's a real lawyer, it turns out, and he enjoys tennis and music, as do I. Then why is my name 'anti-Robert Heyman'? Well, I guess it is because Robert Heyman has yet to realize that this blog is for fatties, children, and angry 20-somethings who need to vent and not for lawyers with talking websites. I'm a 20-something fatty.

Another semi-pro athlete represented by a semi-pro lawyer.

Before this blog is littered with derogatory comments about this decision, please consider that the initial police reports were later found to be highly inaccurate. The credible witnesses proved Mr Reyes was in fact a victim of an unprovoked attack. The State Attorney took the action they would have with ANYONE
placed in the same circumstances. So please, shelve the canned comments about fame or money somehow having any influence here.

Just another example of how money can buy you out of most things. The average Joe who is not a rich celebrity would be facing jail time for doing the exact same thing.
