Kazmir start delayed
The Rays have decided to push back All-Star Game winner Scott Kazmir's next start until at least Sunday.
Kazmir was to start Saturday, but the Rays decided to give him some extra rest after he worked the 15th inning, and got the win, in Tuesday's All-Star Game, just two days after throwing 104 pitches in Cleveland. RHP Matt Garza will instead start Saturday.
Kazmir said Thursday he felt fine - that he just the normal "good soreness" - and that a final decision would be made after he throws Friday on whether he will start Sunday against Toronto or Monday against Oakland. RHP Edwin Jackson will start whichever game Kazmir does not.
Executive VP Andrew Friedman said the Rays just wanted to be cautious in their handling of Kazmir, who missed the first five weeks of the season with an elbow problem.
Also, the Rays said they will activate RHP Al Reyes, who has been out since June 10 with shoulder tendinitis, for Friday's game. The Rays were encouraged with the progress of RHP Troy Percival and not sure yet about the status of SS Jason Bartlett, but are hoping to get both back soon.
All players reported for Thursday's workout, though All-Stars Kazmir and Evan Longoria were allowed to leave early.

So... I still win 3-1???
I'm sorry by the way... Joba will not win the Cy Young.
Not a snowball's chance in hell.
He didn't even make the all-star team. He won't be in New York long though. There's not enough cheesecake for his fat--s there. One thing we all know is- New Yorkers love cheesecake. When they find out that their supply of cheesecake is comprimised by Joba Chamberlain playing for the Yankees, they will run him out faster than a heterosexual catholic priest.

Is Kazmir gonna pitch Sunday? How long do u think he will go 1 or 2 innings?

Ray F,
If you're going to comment on grammar, I suggest you use it properly yourself.
You said:
"The Rays' offense gets back on it's collective feet tonight. You watch."
Your use of it's is not correct.
As an example, here's the proper way to use it's.
it's still the Devil Rays, because, even if you change the name of crap to something else, it still stinks.
You get it? The Devil Rays still stink.

The Yankmee and Sux fans are even bandwagon trolls........I didn't hear a whiff from them when the Sux were 5 games back. Too bad the yankmee fan didn't slap around Papelbaby and his mistress....er...wife.

Is there any doubt that this team loses again tonight? Instead of wasting your time watching another loss, tune into cops tonight.
I hear Elijiah Dukes is being chased by a helicopter tonight.

Not- there are not...
2nd... NEITHER are the...
Not- either are the...
3rd... the RAYS
Not- the devil Rays.
Brush up on the grammar and your facts a little first before posting on a website and making yourself look like a rube.

Lay off Kaz. You have to protect young arms. We "pamper" him now, and he won't spend the next 5 seasons on the DL.

Yeah Scott... no hitting.
They're on pace to hit nearly 200 homers as a team, and steal over 100 bases. They will hit a stride starting the next 3 weeks against these week opponents coming up.
My prediction: Rays will be back in 1st tomorrow morning.
Red Sux play against the Angels in Anaheim tonight and the Rays play the 4th place Jays at the pit.
The Rays' offense gets back on it's collective feet tonight. You watch.
GO RAYS!!! I'll see all you scumbags this weekend at the pit!

Hey Mr. Red Sox, er, Scott. You say they don't have the hitting. They DO have it.......they just have stunk it up so far........no way Crawford is as bad as he's played, Pena and Upton too.

All,
Face it the Rays and their stupidly optimistic Manager SUCK!!! Always have and always will. While they have been a fun team to watch this year, they still are overachieving and will end up finishing in 3rd in the AL East. And BTW no I am not a Red Sox or Yankees fan just a realist. They do have the pitching but they just don't have the hitting. And, they also do not have someone that can stand up in front of the team when they lose a few games in a row and lay into them.

Rays should rocket out of the shoot in the 2nd half..Aj Burnett and Roy Hallyday back to back should be easy picins.

Right on Bobbylink, Kazmir has to be the most pampered pitcher in baseball.
Mr 5 innings, 100 pitches and out.

Thank goodness Rays start second half with 6 home games. 6 0f the 7 lost before the break were on the road. Most of the teams in the league are struggling on the road. Red Sox have a worse record on the road than the Rays. Start winning series again, one game at a time. The bats will come around but time to call up Price and move Jackson to the bullpen. Jackson, Balfour, Wheeler and Percival would be a strong bullpen.
Go Rays - lookin forward to a fun second half - finally one that matters.

Talk about kid gloves. 15 pitches and he has to move back in the rotation?? Ridiculous.

OK... today brings with it the first day of the rest of the season. The yankees made a move by signing Richie Sexson. We need to start pulling some switches so we come out of the box strong after the break.
The next 3 weeks, we have some weak teams to play against and the Sox have the toughest schedule. We need to be back in first at the end of next week based on ours and the red sux schedule.
The last 4 weeks of the season are going to be tough, but we should be in a good position going into the final push if we can take 75% of the games in the next 3 weeks.
GO RAYS!!! See you scumbags on Saturday at the pit!!!

Let's go boys. Time to win. Time to stop doubting, and start believing again. WE ARE THE RAYS! Let's go!!

Hopefully Kaz will feel well enough to pitch Sunday. It would be great to have our top 3 starters back to back to back.
