Price honored as minors' best
LHP David Price, who has already pitched at three levels, on Wednesday was named USA Today's Minor League Player of the Year.
Price, in his first pro season, has pitched his way from Class A to Double-A to Triple-A, and may be promoted to the big leagues as soon as next week.

when new Stadium is built in beautiful St. Pete. If you don't like it, leave by heading north & don't look back or return b/c the Rays are staying for along long time, so get over it whiners..

price wants it and he wants it bad. i don't think he's afraid of failing, and if he screws up it won't screw him up. he's got the makeup and the physical ability for MLB and this coaching staff has proven they can bring along young pitchers. it'd be nice if he could finish durham's postseason though

Dave is right. There is absolutely no need to rush him to the majors. Even Tom Seaver spent a year at AAA after college.

Put Price in the bullpen!! The Yankees did it with Joba and it seemed to work just foen for him.

What a class act Mike Lowell is. I always hope he does well in everything.

I'm glad he got the nod, but I'm dreading the mass of "get him in the rotation!" calls. People will anoint him the saviour then decry him as a bum as soon as he gives up his first home run. HE NEEDS TO SPEND MORE TIME IN DURHAM. He got the loss in a poor performance last night. The worst thing the organization can do is rush him.
