Show off your mohawks
The trend started last week during the Rays' push to their first-ever playoff berth.
The players and even manager Joe Maddon got mohawk haircuts as a rallying statement. The style quickly caught on with fans. See Ed and Kyle Vonnes above.
Are you getting in the Rays spirit with a new 'do? If so, we want to see your pics. E-mail them to submit@tampabay.com. Make sure to include your name and a bit about the photo. Then view the pics in our Mohawk gallery.
Now, these haircuts aren't for everybody. So we're also interested in any outward expression of Rays spirit. Send those photos, too.

I am pretty sure this trend started with the kid that is always at the games. He is usually on TV when the camera looks for a happy fan.

I just saw a guy up here in Maine with a mohawk--guess he's a Rays fan. Or just likes mohawks.

Who is at the unemployment office if all you guys are on this blog? Actually, I know who is there - all the fans who cut their hair into a mohawk.

I kind of like the sound of that "Mohawk Nation."

Geez, some people must have missed their nap times. Chill out, folks. They're mohawks. Mohawks aren't out to hurt you, they won't raise taxes, and they won't get your daughter knocked up. I know a lot of people like to whine and complain about absolutely anything to make them feel better about their lives, but seriously... it's just a haircut. I'm sure there are other things you can go cry about.

The hawks are great fun but I can't get any west coast crazies to do it. Yet. Maybe for the World Series ;-) But there are a lot of Tampa Bay shirts and caps coming out of the closet north of Angels Territory.
I need to see a better pic of the Mo(Joe)Hawk. I hear a lot of chatter about how the barber really "dug in", but it's not really showing up. Not even on HD days... which are rare out here. C'mon Joe. Dig deeper.

My mullet looks a lot better than these guys. The carpet matches the drapes.

Sallyann, something tells me you have a mullet between your legs...in two ways.

1:34PM - just another hater. I suspect this person also posted multiple times about attendance. There very few negative things that you can say about this team, but the haters always find them. Hey, our boys are playing hard and having fun. They can wear their hair however they want.

lol @ people getting so mad about another person's haircut.
Do us all a favor and stay away from the Trop with all that whining and crying.

A mullet haircut would have been more appropriate for the area.

TIM K
Its called unity...In the NHL playoffs, teams grow their beards together, in the NBA teams shave their heade or wear headbands, in the MLB the BEST team in baseball gets Mohawks...Theyre not even visible when on the field so why bash em and call them non-professional...I call it Unity and a bunch of young, talented guys coming together at a time where TEAM is most important...You must be the lazy, couch potatoe, never been to a Rays game type!
