Fan Frenzy
After a day of hard partying, Tampa Bay Rays' fans are ready to celebrate again this afternoon.
At Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill, the dance floor was already full by 5 p.m. The indoor bar was a sea of blue and white Rays shirts. Outside, the smell of grilled hot dogs and burgers hung heavy in the air. Next door, the Gasplant Antiques Arcade was handing out free hot dogs and soda.
At Tropicana Field, the stadium was so packed fans had to wait in line just to step onto the escalators.
"They obviously weren't expecting this when the stadium was built," said Rick Danner, 54, of Tampa.
Lisa Mitchell, 24, arrived at the stadium with five of her girlfriends ready to celebrate the Rays and hunt for a weekend date. Her blond hair was curled and she wore a short sun-dress.
"You can pick up a lot of phone numbers at a baseball game," she said, laughing. Her perfect guy, "would have (Evan) Longoria's face and B.J. (Upton)'s butt."

So Ferg's is the end-all be-all of Rays fandome now?
Laughable. I can recall having to ASK a Ferg's bartender to put the Rays game on one of their numerous TVs just a couple of seasons ago. Maybe it was an errant Bostonian, but GIVE IT A REST.
There are other establishments who support the Rays too.
