Lobsters put on their Rays gear for tonight's game

Lobster

[Edmund D. Fountain, Times]

Allen Berube, the owner of seafood restaurant Monstah Lobstah in Tampa, dressed up his two live lobsters with Tampa Bay Rays top hats on Friday and Saturday.

"This is the Rays' new pinch hittah," joked Berube, the man behind the four lobster rolls stands in Tropicana Field this season.

The Rays' management came up with the idea to dress the lobsters up and Berube didn't hesitate. He attached the black top hats with "TB" on the front with rubber bands.

Berube said he used to be a Red Sox fan. What converted him? "The first time I sold 500 lobster rolls in a night," he said. "If the Rays make it to the World Series it'll probably add another zero to my salary."

great. dress up some poor sea creature, torture it, then dump it live into boiling water and eat it.

Hey "Monstah", when is your next fight?

Clark

He's a Rays fan because he has something of a stake in how the team performs. What's the harm in that?

some of you ham & eggers have the thinnest skin of any sports fans ... maybe even thinner than gator fans!
how many businesses in this area still have owners that support out of town teams? a lot more than you'd think ... I am glad he's a Rays fan .. it's where he lives and works

there's a guy who owns a couple anytime fitness gyms in the area that is a shameless redsox fan ... lives here .. has his business here yet he still supports all the new england teams .... pathetic

Melanie

You and the stupid lobsters should go back to Boston!!

I agree with the hot chick idea!!!!

Tony

Where are the PETA people???? Is there no shame??? They area making a mockery of the crustacean population. Cruelty to lobsters!!! I forgot, lobsters are in the roach family. Wait, where's the pot? I'm hungry

Quagmire

let's have a 'rays fan hot chick' gallery of each game....that would get more interest than a lobster...Giggity

Mike

Loyalty to your team is a deep as your reach into your wallet as witnessed by the comments made by Berube. It's one thing to covert to a Rays fan because you moved down here and this is your home, it's another thing when converting adds another zero to his salary. I'm never going to shop at his place again.
