Go RAYS!!!
Posted by: m | October 07, 2008 at 08:12 PM
SPPD better charge up them tasers, cause the Rays Republic is gonna give the Red Sux Nation an electric ride! I do kinda wish my original season ticket seat wasn't covered with the tarp - Obstructed Views Rule!
Posted by: Marty S. | October 07, 2008 at 05:41 PM
Joe, "Sox Fan" is a rays fan making fun of sox fans. How this is confusing to you people I'll never understand.
Posted by: Joe | October 07, 2008 at 05:29 PM
Yeah it is interesting you would use the word "tail pipe" I guess you being of the "boorish behavior" no other teams or fans welcomed you so so climbed onto the tail pipe in 04...to try to be a part of the Nation...unfortunately us veterns have to deal with you rookies...winners and losers brother!
Posted by: Joe | October 07, 2008 at 05:24 PM
hey Joe Amaral: stick it up your tail pipe!
Call it what you want but we work hard at our boorish behavior
just like a good gator fan, 99% of us give the others a bad name!

I have been a die hard Red Sox fan since 1960.Having family in St. Petersburg, and for awhile being a part time resident, I embraced the Rays. Now I am looking forward to one hell of a series. I aggree with Harold, these yahoo's that are argumentive and disrespectful of other folks and especially TB Ray fans, are not REAL Red Sox fans, and I personally apologize for these "bad apples". I congratulate Tampa Bay, and as I stated earlier I look forward to some very good baseball. May the best team win!
Posted by: Joe Amaral | October 07, 2008 at 05:11 PM
This is a dream come true!!!
I am pulling for the Rays, baby. The Rays must not let a case of the "big head" get to them! Should the Rays be fortunate to make it to the "big get down", it is gonna be ALL GOOD in the 'Burg!
"Go Rays"
Posted by: Gilbert | October 07, 2008 at 03:00 PM
There's two ways to counter the "pink hat" effect. Pack the house and score runs. This is going to be exciting folks!
Posted by: Brian J | October 07, 2008 at 01:24 PM
Well put, Harold. These are the guys that real Red Sox fans are actually making fun of on other blogs (referring to them as "rightfully disdained pink hatters"). Rays fans, don't get your impression of Sox fans from these guys. All of the ones I know are knowledgeable, classy baseball fans.
The Red Sox are generally a very classy organization, and a hell of a good ball club. Should be an interesting series. Looking forward to it!
Posted by: Amanda | October 07, 2008 at 11:55 AM
Harold, your comment was barely readable but I think I agree with most of what you said. It will be sad to bid adieu to you jokers on Tuesday, but it will be nice to get some rest before beating up on LAD.
Posted by: Sox Fan | October 07, 2008 at 11:54 AM
I am really worried about this series. In fact, I am pretty sure you will beat us pretty wocked good!
PS) you guys ever hear of someone named Buckner? some guy mentioned his name the other day and I drew a blank
Posted by: Sox Fan Since ''04 | October 07, 2008 at 11:52 AM
This is the way i should be Rays vs Boston. The two best teams in the Al and maybe in baseball. The old gaurd vs the Youngsters. I love it. Most Boston fans I know are looking forward to it as a great matchup. the "fans" that jumped on the wagon after 2004 are the ignorant creepy mouthy ones. Ignore them. They suck.responding to them makes them feel like they have accomplished something. They belong to the RED Sox Nation like Illegal Immigrants belong in America. Boston Redsox players dont suck. They are World Champions and thats what makes this the best ALCS in a LONG LONG time. I like the Rays chances. Yea Baby Go Rays

"Stay classy Tampa Bay"
I'm sure it was unintentional, but that's the funniest thing I've read this week!
Posted by: Sox Fan | October 07, 2008 at 11:48 AM
All s u x fans do is resort to low-life name calling & belittling to no-avail just to try and boost the own ego, what losers they are.
Stay classy Tampa Bay, make'em eat their hearts out, because the ones living up north, wished they lived here.
I Love This Town - "St. Petersburg"
Posted by: rayray | October 07, 2008 at 11:40 AM
You guys chose a drunk hillbilly as your mascot? Interesting
Posted by: Sox Fan | October 07, 2008 at 11:36 AM
More filthy, smelly laundry to wash. This time we're going to used 2 gallons of bleach per load just to get rid of the stench & color.
We've worn out some socks already until holes were in them & the elastic gave way; now it's time wear out some more by stomping on them.
If you've walked on/in one pair of socks, you've walked on/in them all, they're only good for keeping my feet warm, comfy, and dry.
For some reason my pet, RayFido likes to chew on & relieve himself on my red socks only; to that - "I say sick'em boy"....
Posted by: RayMond The Rays Mascot | October 07, 2008 at 11:34 AM
Your celebratory noise of choice is that of farmers herding cows, and you call BOS fans "low class"? Interesting
Posted by: Sox Fan | October 07, 2008 at 11:28 AM
Harold Reynolds was awesome, and the fact that he sounds like Chris Rock is a bonus. Above average analysis and he was funny.
But seriously, Rays fans, never forget the low class tradition that Red Sox fans have brought to The Trop. It's time to rise up, from ther very first pitch, it's our stadium.
Now I am going to write something nasty on a Red Sox blog. Nah, they usually gobble each other up on their own.
Posted by: Brian J | October 07, 2008 at 11:19 AM
I'm beyond excited about these games.
No disrespect to the Phils and the Dodgers, but this is more or less the World Series for me. :)
"PS. You were lucky to have a pro like Don Orsillo do your games. We were stuck with Chip Caray. TBS sucks."
I'll give you this, Boston Dan. I was one of the Rays fans complaining about getting the Red Sox announcer, but he did a good job...and yes, he's much better than Chip Caray. Good Lord, he and his partner were boring.
Posted by: Helene | October 07, 2008 at 10:23 AM
Dude look at the top of the page, it tells you that the games will start 37 minutes after the times listed. Coverage starts at the times posted

ALDS is just a warmup son - ALCS will be a cakewalk
BTW the players don't like those idiotic cowbells, they're annoying for everyone.
Posted by: Sox Fan | October 07, 2008 at 09:15 AM
Wow, what a sorry bunch of whiners--I'm looking at you, Boston. You can't go have fun for 10 minutes before spoiling for a fight?
Posted by: | October 07, 2008 at 09:09 AM
"All your Trop tickets belong to us" - thanks for selling them for a doublewide payment, Rays fans!
Posted by: Sox Fan | October 07, 2008 at 09:04 AM
The Rays are a team of destiny!!
Posted by: | October 07, 2008 at 08:57 AM
gotta love these sox fans who have nothing better to do than RUN TO OUR BOARDS right after they win ...GETTA LIFE DUDE
Posted by: | October 07, 2008 at 08:56 AM
Fuber-
Honestly, the reason I'm so nervous is the way Boston has, at least in the past few years, been known for stepping it up another couple notches in the postseason. They go from being a good team, to being a REALLY good team.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I think our boys can handle this! It's just sure not going to be easy against the Red Sox.
Posted by: Amanda | October 07, 2008 at 08:53 AM
For all you optimistic Red Sox Fans: Congratulations on winning your series. I'm sorry to bring you some bad news however. A couple of you made a reference to "crushing us like bugs" but certain types of bugs don't crush so easily and the fact that you all live in Red Sox Nation you should be familiar with these types of bugs. In any case, we just wanted to congratulate you again on your past success but move aside now as the Rays Republic is taking over.
Posted by: Rays Republic | October 07, 2008 at 08:36 AM
Home field advantage, cowbells, no more Botard majority, 8-1 at the trop vs the Sox, no Manny, best bullpen in baseball, momentum... I like our chences
Posted by: Mike | October 07, 2008 at 08:27 AM
Not sure why some Rays fans are nervous. The better match up for the Rays is the Sox. We beat them in the regular season series. And we beat them in the Trop and at Fenway. And the Rays have home field advantage. And the Sox know the Rays can beat them. And the Rays can beat Papelbum.
This is the matchup we wanted. The post season isn't suppose to be a cakewalk. We need to beat the Sox to prove we're the best. What better way to win the World Series taking a trip through Boston?
Go Rays!
Posted by: Fuber | October 07, 2008 at 08:05 AM
According to the MLB website game times are different then what sptimes has posted:
Gm 1 BOS @ TB Fri Oct. 10 8:37 PM TBS
Gm 2 BOS @ TB Sat Oct. 11 8:07 PM TBS
Posted by: justme | October 07, 2008 at 07:36 AM
So the Rays won the series in the regular season, the home team dominated - but the Rays will be smashed? Sounds like "smashed" is an appropriate adjective all right, just not in reference to the ALCS.
Posted by: | October 07, 2008 at 03:33 AM
Game 7 is scheduled at the same time as the Bucs game vs. the Seahawks. Will either game time be changed?
Posted by: Adam | October 07, 2008 at 12:48 AM
Good for the rays!! they deserved this win!! Now a true test! Boston in 6. Rays ride ends in this series!! Congrats to the rays for going this far.
Posted by: patrick | October 07, 2008 at 12:47 AM
beat boston!!
we will get the WSC!yeah!!
Posted by: chang | October 07, 2008 at 12:04 AM
Like bugs.
Posted by: Novangelus | October 06, 2008 at 11:58 PM
It will be even sweeter to spank the Red Sox and go to the Series while trampling over the typical negative, drunk, townie, pessimistic Red Sox fans. You still have an inferiority complex from the Yankees' 26 World Championships.
Posted by: Jim | October 06, 2008 at 11:53 PM
ya good point brian J - you should go enjoy being alive in the playoffs, because you're only going to be able to do that for about a week more. i don't think you'll want to do much partying after your 0-4 sweep so go have fun now. see you on friday at that miserable excuse for a ballpark you guys have.
Posted by: tampa bay realist | October 06, 2008 at 11:51 PM
"Realist"-
I personally think that anyone who believes EITHER team will get crushed here is out of their minds. I guess I'm the realist here in realizing that these are two amazing teams that are about to face off. I expect a battle.
Posted by: Amanda | October 06, 2008 at 11:51 PM
amanda i respectfully disagree. i wouldn't call a devastating sweep of the rays a "hell of a series"
Posted by: tampa bay realist | October 06, 2008 at 11:48 PM
Hey Sox fans, your team just won. Go have fun or something. You can save being negative about life for tomorrow. You guys are supposed to be used to winning, but this is how it goes. "We won, how about we go out partying and celebrate!" Life can be fun, give it a shot. Chat with you guys later, I'm going out to party, my team just won.
Posted by: Brian J | October 06, 2008 at 11:48 PM
Boston Dan,
Should be a hell of a series, I can say that for sure.
Posted by: Amanda | October 06, 2008 at 11:46 PM
i wouldn't be surprised if TB just forfeited to save themselves the humiliation.
that would be the tampa bay thing to do.
Posted by: gammons | October 06, 2008 at 11:46 PM
AL East rules.
Get ready, Tampa Bay, the money is on the table, here come the Red Sox!!
Boston Dan
PS. You were lucky to have a pro like Don Orsillo do your games. We were stuck with Chip Caray. TBS sucks.
Posted by: BostonDan | October 06, 2008 at 11:41 PM
We are going to crush you like bugs.
HAHA Tampa Bay!? Wow - what a pathetic sports town. Like bugs I say, like bugs.
The Nation

B.J. is finally playing well, Carl's back, Andy's dialed in, so is Shields, Garza's not far from it, Kazmir, well here's to hoping. This team playing focused ball can be pretty good. And I am currently living in the heart of Red Sox Nation and can't handle losing to them (I may be coming down for the series, though).
