Philly Phan!

I was rooting for the Rays until they won in the AL to play the Phils.

Let's go Phillies!! I'd love to see a repeat of the game 4 score!

Sid

Better luck next year. Go Phils.

tbird

Rays fans, you just have to suck it up, come to reality and realize, RIGHT NOW the Phillies are the better team in every aspect of the game. They may not be in the future but this is not the future--this is now and we are pathetic in this series thus far. We have been emarrassed on a national stage and that national stage can see the confidence is gone, the strut is gone, and the series is gone. Perhaps they should all shave off the mohawk to turn it around??

justthefacts

Gee craigster... nothing like sour grapes.

SJ

Brian's right, that's what's missing--the fun! Lighten up guys, you're in the World Series! How many other teams are sitting at home wishing they were in your cleats?
Am I disappointed, sure, I miss the Rays we've seen all season too but this is the World Series! The Rays are playing in the World Series. Win or lose, there are more teams who AREN'T playing there now while you guys were dismissed all along.
GO RAYS.

craigster

Do you notice the camera never fixes on a hot Philadelphia woman? They must have the ugliest people there. all of them looked fat, worn and tore up. I'd rather be in sunny tampa with hot women than at a philly parade any day.

Charlie G

What Brian J said! Just have fun boys! You've exceeded anyone's wildest imaginations. Grab some joy!

joeknowsbaseball

No one is handing this game to the Philas. The game is 9 innings and all we need is 5 lousy runs off a pitcher that is due to FOLD. HE is DUE to FOLD. Hamels will FOLD in Game 5.

All things in its time!

What would the movie be like if the series did not go 7 games? How could the improbable hero step up to the plate in game 7 if there is none?

This is Hollywood.
Welcome to it. Longoria, Upton, Price.

Will Maddon start Price and use Kazmir in relief?

Will Aybar start in rightfield?

Will Evan or BJ break it open early?

It will break open early, very early!

JUST ONE MORE.

JUST 5 RUNS.

Instant Replay in 2009.

GO RAYS...WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD!

Brian J

Win or lose, I want to see the Boys have fun again. At least for one night.

Phil J..

Rays fans! Yeah we may be down 3-1 and its not looking good now but look at it this way. This could be the beginning of a baseball dynasty! We were in last place last season with no hope and then BANG! Look at this season and look at our team. We are LOADED with young talent. Our farm system is LOADED with young talent. Michael Jordan and the Bulls knocked on the door several times before breaking that door down and winning numerous championships. I think the oldest pitcher in our rotation is 26! Are you kidding me? Just wait until David Price matures! Our staff will be UN-HITTABLE! You can call these guys the untouchables for crying out loud! Remember, this was Evan Longoria's ROOKIE SEASON!
Keep the hope Rays fans. I've been following these guys since DAY ONE and Stuart Sternberg and his ownership group have done and AMAZING job with this team. If they can keep it together for a few years.....the possiblilties are scary! Mark my words, yes the Phillies are on top now but in the next few years NO ONE will ever disrespect this team OR its fans ever again!

GO RAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

todd

kevin,
There is no team in Tampa and their name is the Rays. Tampa Bay Rays.

Rays win game 5.

Kisha

I still believe in our Rays and will be hoping they come out with a win tonight .Hammels is great but any great picture can be hittable on any day .If Kazmir can get through the first two innings without giving up any runs I think it's possible to win it .It's not going to be easy but who knows the Phillies my be thinking ahead to celebrating and the Rays can take one .

SPaz_says""

Do not cry about the umpiring crew. There is bad officiating in EVERY game. Not necessarily bad officiating, its human error and it always goes both ways. It happened in the ALCS also.

Kevin

Enough with the crying about Rollins in the first. Tampa tied game three based entirely off the blown call at first on Crawford. He was out, and it led directly to two Tampa runs (the second wouldn't have scored because it would have been during the third out). And the Phillies were on the wrong end of the Rollins non-HBP in the 9th of game two. It's been poorly officiated for both teams. Neither can cry too much.

Helene

I'm sulking, but I haven't given up. As long as there is one more game, there's hope. Don't like the odds with the way they've been playing, but at least with a win we're going back to St. Pete.

Offense has been spotty all year and unfortunately it's hitting a skid again at an uh, inopportune time. Hard to win games when your 3 & 4 hitters are auto outs. The defensive miscues have been contagious and everyone looks nervous and tentative in the field. Shake it off, guys.

Craigster, I agree the umpiring has been atrocious, but let's be fair--it's gone both ways.

joeknowsbaseball

Let’s put this in perspective.

Joe Morgan says, “Baseball is a really easy game…just keep swinging.” It happened that way for Ryan Howard. So Joe Morgan is on to something?

The last 4 games have been close and just like a World Series should be.

Philas fans will argue last night was not close. They are WRONG. It was very close.

Momentum can swing at any moment. Got it? Momentum is the swing. Keep swinging and the game will come to you (Evan and Carlos keep swinging).

Oh, and Rollins was OUT in the 1st.

Now, no one has pitched any better than the other. This is the World Series. The pitching has been better than most!

Really…there have been less than 3 pitches that have changed momentum in each of the 4 games. Unfortunately, those pitches have been dealt to the Philas by the Rays.

On to Game 5…this is really simple to see the outcome, really!

Read after me:

FIRST ONE TO 5 WINS!

That’s it. FIRST ONE TO 5 WINS!

Look at the tipping points and you will see it. 5 is the number and it would be nice if it turned out that RAYS position NUMBER 5 had something to do with it…

Get 5 tonight and the Rays will be playing “the boys are back in town” for real!

Go Rays!

9equals8.com

If there is one thing everyone should have learned about this team is that they don't quit. I believe the Rays are going to bring this thing back home tonight for 2 games in St. Pete. I got my tickets and I'm hoping we can punch them! GO RAYS!!!

SPaz_says""

Hey TB Fans, it was fun while it lasted, huh? This team stopped playing with the same edge it had against Boston. As a Boston fan this is not the same team I watched the past two weeks. ....Your World Series WAS the ALCS. .............A great accomplishment to win the pennant, no question, but it's not the World Series. The American League traditionally dominates the National League!! What's happening here??? ...Its definatley possible for TB to come back from this but they have to start swinging the bats, hustling and just gritting it out like they did against the Sox. ....Im actually rooting for The Rays but thier not making it easy for me. Where's your heart?? Lets go Rays, leave it all out there!

jimbo

it's not over but the phils are on the verge!!you have a young team and they should be back and even more now , you have committed yourself to baseball and should have a larger attendance and your fans will become more passionate and someday will be assholes like most of the phillie fans..but then you will have what it takes to win a series..i mean look at yankee and boston fans

todd

Every kid who has ever laced up a pair of cleats has dreamed of being in the World Series.
My hope is that the Rays play tonight's game with the same magic that got them to this stage.
Rays can still make history and it starts tonight with a win. Go Rays

kai

Dont give up Rays fans. Im a Yankee fan, but I respect your team after what you guys have done this entire season. anything can happen. stay positive! you guys have won 3 games in a row in the ALCS, remember?! There's no reaon it cant happen again.

The Magnetism of Robin Zander

Auf Wiedersehn, fellow Rays fans. The only consolation I can take from this debacle is that Philly will not sniff another WS for antoher 20 years (but neither will we); NY and/or Boston will be the AL champs next year; and they'll eviscerate the second-rate NL champs.

2008 Season. R.I.P.

What a crushing, disappointing way to end this season. :-(

craigster

Fine this game got away from us but this series is fixed. MLB wants the Phillies to win. What's with all the pointing into the stands? That's showboating and Werth and others should have fastball thrown at their brain. so effing disappointing.

Brian J

Any of the old regulars out there? It would be nice to say good-bye. Or maybe even get some positive mojo going in our direction. Amanda, Harold, 9=8, or anyone else?

Brian J

Let's not forget the Rays are in the World Series. It's been a hell of a season, and there are thirty teams who would love to be where we are.

A Crisp

Let's see, what the Rays have done in the World Series so far... pitching hasn't shown up, the heart of the line up felt the need to go on vacation, and defense has been less than stellar. The only thing they've managed to do right is win everyone in America a free taco.

Brian J

Patrick, you're an idiot.

Cory

Joe I AM the PLUMBER Blanton

Patrick

thats baseball folks. crawford was clearly out last night and it lead to a run. toughen up. this is the big leagues.
