Rays claim RHP Dewon Day

The Rays claimed RHP Dewon Day off waivers from Boston.
Day, 28, pitched 13 games in the big leagues as a reliever for the White Sox in 2007, going 0-1, 11.25, in 12 innings over 13 games.
He spent all of last season in the minors, going 1-6, 6.61 with Double-A Birmingham as a starter, then 0-3, 4.56 as a reliever for Triple-A Charlotte. The Red Sox claimed him off waivers in October.
Day, whose overall minor-league record is 6-21, 3.99, was added to the Rays 40-man roster, which is now full, and will compete for a job in spring training.

SC-Carl

was this a shot to make up for the signing of Baldelli? yuck. I bet they are terribly angry in Boston.

Those are some great stats. Good signing.
