Vets Floyd, DiFelice find new homes
Two veterans who played for the Rays last season are headed in different directions.
OF/1B/DH Cliff Floyd, who hinted at retirement after injuring his right shoulder during the World Series, agreed to a one-year deal with the Padres, who plan to use him primarily as a pinch-hitter.
C Mike DiFelice, who played seven games for the Rays but spent most of the year at Triple-A Durham, officially retired as a player and will manage the Mets' rookie-league team in Kingsport, Tenn.
Also, LHP Brian Shouse underwent his physical exam on Thursday but it may be Monday before all results are in and his signing becomes official. When it is, the Rays will have to make room on the 40-man roster.

Good luck Cliff! You deserve more credit for last year than you may ever get.

Oh Cliff...
I'll never forget that right before he hit his solo home run in the 5th inning of Game 2 of the ALCS, I blew my horn during Beckett's wind up, and you can hear it on the highlight if you listen hard enough.
At the time I was more happy about knowing I'd be immortalized in the highlight than the actual home run, lol.
