Kazmir says he's ready to go
LHP Scott Kazmir said "everything felt good" in his rehab start Monday at Durham and he is ready to return to the rotation.
However Rays officials are going to decide later today probably if he will return or make another minor-league start.
Kazmir did say he needs to build his arm strength a bit more.
If he is ready to return, the Rays will have to make an interesting decision on how to make room. Andy Sonnanstine and David Price would seem the most likely.

9=8, the reports were that his FB was sitting at 92-93.

I always thought it would be Sonny going to bullpen but after that display in the first maybe Price needs to go back to Durham and work on being a smarter pitcher; I don't care how great your stuff is tonight as Kennedy keeps saying. He needs to be way smarter when he gets 2 strikes on a batter....Oh well it is early in the game so let's see what our boys can do.

Sonnanstine and his 6.60 ERA is absolutely the choice to get bumped from the rotation.NO ONE can pitch in a major league rotation with stats as horrible as Sonnanstine's...in spite of him being Maddon's pet!!

THE MYSTERY OF SCOTT KAZ. HE WAS FINE 2 YRS AGO WITH 94-95 RANGE AND ONCE HIT 97. SOME GUY SAYS HE MIGHT BE A DECENT CLOSER. TIME WILL TELL THE STORY. HOPE HE FITS IN ! SONNY IS SIMILAR TO KAZ THE FACT THAT THEIR FAST BALLS ARE TOO HITABLE. THE NEXT MOVE WOULD BE THE PEN !

I would love to have Good Kazmir back, but there is no reason to rush things along here. BTW - does anyone know what his velocity was like at Durham? I'd really like to see him come back with strong fastball command in the 91-93 MPH range. If he's not there, keep building.
