For starters, Rays vs A's minus Crawford | Main | Athletics 7, Rays 3 »

Athletics 7, Rays 3

In a virtual rerun of Saturday's loss, Tampa Bay's bullpen blows a 3-0 lead in the seventh, and last-place Oakland sends the Rays into the All-Star break on a sour note.

Carl Crawford is the Rays leading hitter? Which statistic does he lead the team in?

Average: Bartlett
HR's: Pena
RBI's: Longoria
OBP: Zobrist
Walks: Pena

CC good hitter but not the best on this team sorry Raymond that would be Jason Bartlett, You cant blame Maddon for the bullpens piss poor performance sorry, Once again as I have posted before the demise of this team is Jim Hickey...... Is it possible to trade Coaches in MLB? Haven't seen a coach ever get traded but this guy needs to go because he obviously isn't the right man for this job.

It was very hard to watch today. I thought for sure they were going to take this one after last nights pathetic showing. Almost an identical game. They are so streaky. In June were leading the majors in runs scored, in July we cant buy an RBI. But as I recall from last year, we seemed to lose focus going into the allstar break as well. Hopefully we come out swinging a hot bat, like last year in the second half. Im ready for the playoff push.

What a pathetic performance this weekend. I was willing to overlook last nights game, but with the loss today Rays fans should be disappointed with the teams performance. At the end of the year we're going to look back at the games we lost against LAST PLACE TEAMS (Indians, A's, Orioles) and say "that's why were not in the playoffs". I'm one of the biggest Rays fans out here and I hope they prove me wrong, but I just don't see it. This team has no consistency...the hitting is good, but the starting pitching stinks; starting pitching strong, but we can't score any runs; close game late and our bullpen lets the other team back in it. Forget about catching the Sox unless they have a catastrophic amount of injuries, they're too strong. The Wild Card will be our only chance to get in to the postseason and the Angels, Rangers and Yankees look very strong. The Rays need to stop playing down to the opposing teams level and play hard for nine innings no matter who it's against. Our offense; which people on this sight keep propping up as one leagues best because of how many runs we've scored; made the A's starters look like Cy Young candidates this weekend. I hope they come back fresh and ready to play after the break, they have a very long road trip that could bury them if they're not careful.

Well at least the Rays leading hitter Carl Crawford got the the day off so he could be rested for the all star game, kudos to Maddon!!
