Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria won't play in All-Star Game
Rays 3B Evan Longoria won't play in tonight's All-Star Game due to a finger infection.
Longoria, who was to be the first All-Star starter in Rays history, will be replaced on the AL roster by the Angels Chone Figgins (of Brandon).Texas' Michael Young will start at third.
The Rays say the injury is not serious and Longoria is expected to be ready when the Rays resume play on Friday.
The infection is on his right ring finger. He had it drained and was treated with antibiotics on Monday.

do we still get historical credit for having our entire infield in the all star game?
this is more than ok with me, let the finger heal, give those hamstrings another 4 days of recovery, and let's get focused on the second half. yankees and sox never seem to stop winning, so we can't stop either. #3 hasn't played like an all star since late May

That's too bad. But there is a silver lining. I have the new EA Sports NCAA '10 game for the 360 so I can play it and forget about the hangnail derby....errrr All-Star game.
