Tampa Bay Rays All-Star report
Carl Crawford was the first Ray in the game, singling to open the fifth. He stayed in the game in left.
Jason Bartlett went to shortstop for the bottom of the sixth.
Ben Zobrist caught a pop fly in shallow right field in the bottom of the ninth inning to end the game.
Crawford, who went 1-for-3 and robbed Colorado's Brad Hawpe of a home run by snagging the ball as it cleared the top of the leftfield fence in the seventh inning, was named MVP.
Carlos Pena and Evan Longoria did not play.

Congrats CC!
Carl Crawford is perhaps the most exciting player in MLB and is finally getting the national recognition he deserves.
Seems that Longoria gets all the hype, but Carl delivers at a very high level on a more consistent basis. Carl is the greatest Rays player and I'm happy for him. He's a very special player and a potential future hall of famer.

Great job by all our guys, especially CC. He deserves all accolades that come his way for his work ethic and approach to the game.
Also congrats to Joe and the coaching staff.
Now two whole days without baseball. I can't wait till Friday!

Congratulations to CARL CRAWFORD for being selected 2009 ALL-STAR MOST VALUABLE PLAYER. Well deserved for that catch and well deserved for playing the game the way it should be played; by giving 110% each and every game, both on offense and defense. His effort and work ethic does not go unnoticed by this die-hard Rays fan.

Nice of Fox to show a picture of this substitution, showing "Ben Zobrist" under a nice shot of Jason Bartlett. .. Ah, the smallness of the market
