Jackie Warner + drag queens = Gaydar-ific!

I love drag queens (even though I'm pretty sure the real good witch of the north, Glinda, would never do a fist pump at a parade). The extravagant outfits that they wear are amazing (and usually better than most efforts from women). That's exactly why I'm looking forward to the first annual Gaybor Daze. It's better than watching my Grandma after a few glasses of Merlot on Thanksgiving (It takes a lot to beat that type of flamboyance).

Seriously, though, we just had Pride Week in St. Pete so why do we need another gay event this weekend? Because it's in Ybor! That means everything is going to maxed out with a lot more eyeshadow and a lot more dirty, seductive fun (and no pride event is complete without that).

The Daze begins Friday (7/4) with American Idol star Kimberley Locke over at the Honey Pot singing her hits like Band of Gold and 8th World Wonder. Even if you don't like her music, It's worth it to go and stare at those beautiful eyes of hers for a little while and drink some free alcohol until 11 p.m. Nothing beats free drinks and eye candy.

On Saturday, a Drag Queen Promenade is going to be sashaying down Seventh Avenue. I anticipate a plethora of colors, countless feather boas and enough attitude and sassy talk to power the Bravo network for an entire year. I can't wait to see the reactions of the street preachers as the queens go strutting by.

Speaking of Bravo, I'll head over to catch Work Out's Jackie Warner at the Honey Pot after the queens parade. She's doing a meet and greet there, along with promoting her new clothing line (she needs to ditch the sweats, pronto!). Any time the Honey Pot gets celebrities, the place gets crazy busy and becomes a fun excuse to shake your money-maker. Expect a wild night with enough dancing to rival Warner's exercise techniques.

Another celeb is on the GaYbor Daze lineup: American Idol's Frenchie Davis is going to be over at G. Bar performing the same night. It seems like this is the American Idol weekend in Ybor City instead of Gaybor Daze. This one should be packed, so show up early if you want to get in. She's going to be singing her new song You Are along with a bunch of her Broadway hit stuff (expect stuff from DreamGirls and Rent as she is singing at G. Bar). She's got that beautiful soulful voice and you got to love that vicious presence that she on stage. Just look at her photo. She looks like she's going to rip someone to shreds and I love it!

Me and my friends drove 3 hours to go to Honeypot to see Jackie Warner. We got there and we were told Jackie Warner wouldn't be there because she missed her flight because her dog got hit by a car. That club is a ripoff. This is the second time we went to see an event at Honeypot and the event was cancelled. That is some shady business.
