Tampa Bay's music scene muse
Julie Garisto, who writes profiles of local bands and musicians and who helped tbt* become a success with her local knowledge (and her Barfly reviews) has started a new local music blog called Tampastica. I thought this post about what the local music scene needs is pretty dead-on, and she's already getting some comments on it. We hope you'll take a look and join the discussion.
Meanwhile, if you haven't checked in on some of the local bands in a while, check out tbt*'s roundup of some of the area's best bands here.

Leigh Armstrong is a connoisseur of anything new, cool or strange. After a stint in Korea drinking soju and eating live octopi, Leigh is back in Tampa Bay and ready to experience everything from ultra-hip to the uber-weird.
What does it take to be featured? We're a band in the Tampa area and we've been playing more and more shows. We'd love to be able to play for someone as well. Let us know what we can do. :)

I recon that you can visit pubs to start off with just to see if you can get some digs there. If people like what your are playing, then the word travels swiftly and the contract wont be far away. Good luck! :)
