Dead Man's Dance and a Las Vegas export

Going out this weekend, I had the hard decision of deciding what to do. Given it was Halloween, there were massive parties everywhere and everyone of them sounded enticing. I had already made up my mind that I was going to go to the Fetish and Fantasy Ball at the Cuban Club on Saturday (11/1) because you can't miss out on Vegas-styled craziness and I finally settled on going to the Swing is Dead party at Centro Asturiano as my big Halloween bash for Friday (10/31). I started out swinging with the Swing is Dead party and this is a little of what I saw.

I wasn't expecting the artist formerly know as Prince to even be a costume idea for anyone but Tony Fransway took the idea ran with it. Seeing an undead Prince is is really unnecessary though, as the man himself is frightening enough alive.

The most popular costume this Halloween, I saw more Sarah Palin's than you could shake a Winchester Rifle at. I've got to say that Sherry Perkins' version was right on complete with the glaring eyeglasses. This was definitely a political Halloween especially given the next guys I saw...

Cheap but effective costume. Dan and Susie Crowley definitely got some attention for their idea of being "swing states". I'm not so sure how I feel about Florida being red though...

After resting up from a long night twirling girls around on a dance floor, I got ready for the Fetish and Fantasy Ball at the Cuban Club in Ybor on Saturday. While it wasn't as big as I would have expected for $45, it definitely was a lot of fun and it gave me the chance to see a lot of cool costumes and a few that I wish I could burn from my memory.

The only thing I can say to describe Edward Smit's costume is amazing. I've been trying to do a costume like it for years but I always ending getting nice little cuts all over my body. Considering the detail he put in, he got a lot of deserved praise throughout the night.

I admittedly don't like the Rocky movies but I still have a soft spot for the Russian killing machine, Ivan Drago. While Bruce Sill's costume was great, I doubt the Siberian Express would be caught dead drinking Miller Light. Ever want to be Drago, make sure to check out this cool game where you can play as the U.S.S.R boxing champ.

I've got no idea what Jeff Arsenaalt is supposed to be and I really don't care (though it kind of reminds me of a triffid). All I know is that when I see what looks like a living and walking potted bush walking towards me, I shriek with terror. Did I mention that not only was he a walking bush, but a female walking bush. It's nice to see the flora are getting into the transgendered scene too.

Michelle Bergara shows the chihuahua who's boss. You have to love an afrotastic dominatrix beating a small mexican dog with a whip. Considering the mass amount of people who were dressed up weird and doing odd things, this was actually kind of normal for the night.

Victoria Sapphire, Rick Switch and Lady Jamie all lined up for a posed show. What this doesn't show you is just how tall Victoria is. After I got the picture, she came and put her arm around me and I immediately felt dwarfed by her stature. I guess that's why her stage name is Amazon Goddess and people absolutely flock to her (If you want to find more about her, google her. Her site is so NSFW!). Apparently, She's a celebrity of sorts on the internet and flew down from Ohio to come to the event but flew back up right after so she can make sure to vote. That's patriotism!
