As the date draws near for the State Board of Education's vote on the proposed new science standards, a growing number of school districts - particularly up north - are voicing their opposition to teaching Darwin's theory of evolution without "alternatives."
The Florida Citizens for Science blog has been keeping tabs on them, one by one, as the resolutions emerge. Most recently, Madison County's school board joined the fold, which also includes St. Johns, Baker, Clay and Hamilton.
If you want to see the full list, plus links to all the various documents, news articles and so on, check out the Florida Citizens for Science post "Those not in favor of good science education, raise your hand." And to think, early on it looked like the standards would sail through the approval process with mostly positive remarks.

Oh, I see. So a grading system that was recently developed and is grading CHILDREN is being used to correlate murders? I'm sure glad evolution isn't the only thing they teach in schools, and we can recognize fallacies a mile away now. How about using real research and not rehashing a mirror image of a Kent Hovind argument. I'd really like to read your full statistical report on this matter, and not the 12 seconds of second grade math you used to get 5 numbers, all of which are under 0.01% murder rate.

According to the Thomas B. Fordham Institute who produces the grading system for the State of the State Science Standards, Florida has received an F in 2005. Recognizing the grading system as being overly favorable to the teaching of evolution, I’ve questioned if receiving and F is such a bad thing.
Correlating the Institute’s F through A point grading system in relation to the averaged murder rates within the continental United States, according to the FBI’s uniform crime reports, the grades look like this.
State Science Grade Annual murders per 100,000
F 4.466
D 4.514
C 5.087
B 5.983
A 6.283
It appears people who think they are the decedents of ape like creatures believe they should act like them.

Remember, in Florida the further north you go the closer you get to "The South".
The Bible-Belt should be called the Ignorance-Belt.
