BOG amends tuition complaint vs. Legislature

The group including former Gov. and U.S. Sen. Bob Graham and the Board of Governors just filed their amended tuition complaint against the Legislature, attempting to prove to the judge that they do indeed have standing to challenge the state in court.

The complaint (Download bogamendedcomplaint.pdf ) states that Graham has "standing as a taxpayer and citizen to challenge
the constitutional validity of the exercise of the Legislature's taxing and spending power" and has "special injury standing as the Chair of the nonprofit Florida corporation responsible for the Bob Graham Center for Public Service at the University of Florida," which depends on tuition and state dollars.

And the Board of Governors has standing because it is constitutionally tasked "to operate, regulate, control and be fully responsible for the management of the whole state university system."
