More on the sex ed poll

Sexedpoll_2 So now you know that the vast majority (86 percent) of Floridians surveyed think sex education belongs in the schools. More than that, three in four think the curriculum should go beyond simple abstinence information.

But did you know that more than half believe the lessons should begin in middle school? Or that fully one-third say the classes should start in elementary school?

That's the kind of detail you get when you look at all the poll results. Which aren't in the story. But they're here. Enjoy. (Click on the graphic to see it at full size.)

...and other topics as needed. They send homework home asking for parents to participate in values clarification with their kids as well and it generates communication at home from the kids to the parents.

I am sad to see my youngest leaving middle school, but all three of my kids have the aresenal of information given to them by their wonderful science teachers.

Abstinence only does not work. My kids' school includes communication techniques, saying no, self esteem, media mixed messages, gender roles and then the RN presents all the forms of contraception for them to be prepared....

Funny, I just had the radical notion that public schools in Florida should consider operating under the Constitution of the United States ... WHICH GUARANTEES SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!!!!! Anything else would actually be treason. And we would want to be unpatriotic or a threat to national security now, would we?
