Jeb adds another big name to ed conference

Jeb Bush's education foundation just added another big name to the roster of speakers for its June education conference in Orlando.

U.S. education secretary Margaret Spellings will serve as keynote speaker at the Foundation for Excellence in Education's first annual national summit on education reform, Excellence in Action. She'll join Jeb's mom Barbara, former first lady; New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg; and Pennsylvania Sen. Anthony H. Williams.

Heaven help us.

Yawn.....

wow, sounds like a big line-up sure to fill the stadium.
Spellings? Who the heck would want to come listen to her?
She wasn't even remotely qualified to be Ed Secretary. The only qualifications she had was giving W a toot job once in awhile.
When I think about great Ed Secretaries like Lamar Alexander, Richard Riley or even William Bennett, Spellings pales in comparison.
And Barbara Bush? Pleaaaaze. What ed background does she have? Let me guess, it will be about "reading". Gosh, even most of the dumb people that live in Floriduh know how to read even at a lower than average level of course.
maybe the attendees can get tuition vouchers to pay the conference admission?
Ps Don't forget, there will be the requisite number of stupid "uncle Tom" coloreds like Rod Paige and Willard Fair, they'll need a little cash assistance!

Will they be discussing the disasters they have created in Florida or the failure of Reading First or will they be presnting the misleading data obtained by the flawed state accountability system? Have they asked Derek Neal to present Proficiency Counts: Left Behind by Design? Perhaps it does not matter what is presented if this group believes all can be proficient by 2014, they may also believe cows jump over the moon. Can high school dropouts attend free as examples of Jeb's work?
