JUST TRY TO EXPLAIN: Hernando officials will meet with angry parents Monday to talk about why they couldn't get in to see their kids graduate from Hernando High.

BURSTING AT THE SEAMS: Pinellas County Jewish Day School will expand as its enrollment continues to rise.

CAN'T CUT FOREVER: Florida's Republican lawmakers and governor should not be content to starve education and other services while waiting for taxes to magically revive, the Times editorializes.

GROUPS SUE OVER VOUCHER AMENDMENTS: A coalition has filed suit against two ballot initiatives that would pave the way for Florida to again offer vouchers, the Miami Herald reports.

SIGN THE VIRTUAL SCHOOL BILL: Florida loses too many students who are bored with traditional teaching models, so Gov. Charlie Crist should sign legislation that would expand virtual education, state Senate Education Appropriations chairman Steve Wise writes in an op-ed to the Florida Times-Union.

TUITION UP: The University of Florida and Florida State University each raise the cost of attending, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Florida Gulf Coast University is following suit, the Fort Myers News-Press reports.

ENROLLMENT DOWN: Florida Gulf Coast will see a decrease in the number of admitted students for the first time in its 11 years, the Naples Daily News reports. Several Florida universities have capped enrollment to deal with budget shortfalls.

BAY BANS BOOK: The Bay School Board removes "The Fighting Ground" from circulation amid complaints that it includes too much profanity, the Northwest Florida Daily News reports.
