The Florida Citizens for Science has added a Tampa Bay school – Quail Hollow Elementary in Wesley Chapel – to the list of schools it's helping to obtain much-needed science equipment like eye guards and microscopes. The help comes in the form of a "fundraising challenge" FCS launched last week, promising to match total donations up to $600.
"Education budget woes felt throughout the state are preventing many teachers from obtaining necessary science equipment, thus crippling them at a time when a brand new set of science standards is demanding that they give students more in-depth science instruction," wrote FCS spokesman Brandon Haught.
