A former project director for the National Campus Safety and Security Project is the new senior vice president for business and finance at the University of South Florida.
James A. Hyatt, left, served as executive vice president for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and was vice chancellor at the University of California at Berkeley before leading the safety initiative headquartered in the offices of the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
He earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Washington and has written books, articles and research studies on planning and financial management in higher education.
His appointment begins Nov. 17.
