Who convinced her she had to resign? That was a mistake on her part. "Cavalier" will not resign. The thought would not occur to him to let someone run him out of town. To hear him tell it, he is entitled to the job. Whereas the female is shamed in to believing she does not deserve a job "after what she has done."

"Cavalier" will say she threw herself at him. That she was a temptress and he couldn't resist her charms.

Sadly, we will believe it because it will seem to make sense for some reason.

The reason-we've heard the story before.

Something about an apple and a snake, I think.

tune into the Miami-Dade school board meeting on October 15th.
it's gonna be a hot time in MYAMI!
yuck, yuck

Are you suggesting that some type of chicanery occurred regarding the hiring and promotional practices in a local school system?

I have never heard of that one before. I thought everyone with the school system are highly credentialed and experts in their position. I also thought that the public should have full respect for the public school system and should never question their integrity or authority.

How many parents and honest school personnel have been thrown off the bus and run over by that same bus if they dare question the great Oz of public education?

her relationship with Carvalho was wrong on a professional level
his relationship with her was wrong on a personal level, but lying about it is wrong on a professional level

what about an Assistant Superintendent for High Schools having a relationship with a school employee who gets a job (for which she is unsuited) as a high school assistant principal?

yo

She lost her job because her past behavior as a reporter was unethical...in essence setting up a scenerio where she got inside information from a source (Carvalho) with the promise to make him look good in the articles she wrote.
She deserved to lose her job.
And he's a bit slimy.

Cathie

I'm still trying to figure out why the female reporter had to resign and the male superintendent gets to keep his high-paying job. Sure am glad that back-stabbing slimeball didn't end up here.

Holy Sheep Skin Batman. You expect me to believe that termie and joker aren't the same person with the same fetish for 70's/80's anti-heros for their screen names. I don't believe it.

terminator still won't name a single person in the entire world that he believes is both qualified and trustworthy enough to run a school district as superintendent. He constantly attacks anyone who is considered or holds such positions. I know many superintendents, and most of them are really smart (much smarter than termie) and really care about the kids. So, take the challenge wonder woman. Who do you think would do a good job? Name one superintendent in Florida who is doing a good job. There are 67 of them. Aren't any of them good people who are well qualified? Yes! I happen to know that there are even a few people at the teachers union who are smart, qualified and care about the teachers/students in their roles. Its too bad that you aren't one of them.

Stop picking on joker. He knows what he's talking about.
Carvahlo is an "insider" who worked very closely with the past four (read it) four superintendents.
He also served as a member of the superintendents Cabinet and inner circle.
He was intimately involved with everything that's gone down since 2000.
Are you really claiming Carvahlo's a "reformer" and without him they won't be able to find any money?
Don't know what you've been smoking but pass some this way!

As termie/joker/green lantern/wonder woman knows, the release of the emails came directly from the same individuals (not the reporter) that he claims are so corrupt. They didn't want Carvalho to expose their incompetence (not so much corruption in this case) so they attacked him personally. The union should welcome this appointment because millions in savings that could be used to fund the teachers contract have been found but the work could be "lost" if the job reverts to the truly "old guard."

I think that Carvalho should agree to release all requested documents immediately after the Palin investigation on Troopergate is completed. ha ha ha. that will never end.

actually he doesn't.
the Miami-Dade school board hasn't officially offered a contract to Carvahlo yet.
They were forced to rescind their hasty decision at a special board meeting two weeks ago following a public uproar and the disclosure regarding Carvahlo's extra marital dalliance.
Carvahlo HASN'T been officially offered a contract yet. That won't happen until the October 15th board meeting.
After several years of "slanted" reporting in favor of the Rudy Crew administration the Miami Herald is pressing the reporter for full disclosure of ALL emails. Turns out Crew had paid the Herald over $200K in advertising to buy their silence and the Herald is now trying to make up for their mea culpa.
Plus Carvahlo acknowledged the emails were authentic after originally saying they were "doctored". Now he says he MAY not have opened the emails or may have not responded.
Point is, he flat out lied to several board members about the authenticity of the emails then backpedaled when he was nailed.
Also, he used his district issued blackberry to correspond with the reporter so a full fledged investigation is forthcoming.
It appears Mr. Carvahlo has gotten himself into a hornet's nest of trouble.
In hindsight he probably should have taken the Pinellas job.
What's the old saying about "a woman scorned"? Supposedly the Herald reporter is the one who leaked the emails after being snubbed by Carvahlo.
They don't call us FLORIDUH for nothing and they don't call Miami-Dade a banana republic for nothing.
This thing is going to blow up into a full scale bonfire. Carvahlo's enemies promise there's a whole lot more besides the Herald reporter emails.

Does it bother anyone else that the female is now jobless and the male has the highest paying job of his life?

John

Here is an idea. Why not hire a teacher, administrator, superintendent or whatever. Pay them top dollar, allow them to work for one year unencumbered. At the end of that year move them to a "desk job" where the ethics of their actions during the year that tey worked can be scrutinized by the accountability group for 29 years. After that, retire them or allow them to become the scrutineers for 5 years and "drop" them.

terminator

I think Mr. Carvahlo has gotten his balls caught in a wringer here.
Pinellas should be happy he actually did not accept the job.
You would have had sexual harrassment cases out the you know what!

Holy Cow!!! Must be true if she resigned. Why else would she?
