Three Hillsborough school students took home national awards (not to mention some nice parting gifts) at the 2008 NAACP Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics in Orlando. Congrats to:
- Alfred Sheppard, a Blake High senior, who won gold in music composition. He received $2,000, a computer and a $20,000 scholarship to Berklee College of Music.
- Jasmine Roberts, a Wharton High sophomore, who earned silver in microbiology. She got $1,500 and a computer.
- Jasmine Myers, a Stewart Middle Magnet sixth-grader, who became one of four nationally selected to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art next summer.
