Hillsborought School Board wants better PR

The Hillsborough School Board is tired of getting bad press. It's time for a PR blitz.

Chairwoman Jennifer Faliero shared today plans to build an e-mail listserv, where parents can sign up to receive e-mails directly from the district on everything from transportation updates to the role of the School Board.

She said automated phone calls are in. Letters sent home are out. And stay tuned for exciting new programming for television about the positive things going on in Hillsborough schools.

"I'm tired of hearing what a bad job we're doing," she said. "We do a great job, and people need to have more access to what we're doing."

Are my automated calls going to be in Spanish again because I happen have a Spanish last name... NO HABLA ESPAÑOL!!! Why don't you guys do something about the crappy situation at Alafia, maybe that would give you a little better PR.

Alafia Elementary Concerns

Who the heck is going to sign up for SPAM?

How about each school bored member donate a new teacher salary out of their "part-time salary." They could get all kinds of PR and publicity and improved public perception out of that act. Maybe we could get each of the governmental beaurocrats to donate 10% of their salaries toward the lowest paid employees who usually get totally screwed during budget cutting times. I'm pretty sure the tax savings that the beaurocrats would get would at least equal the free good publicity they would gain. Let's see who is first to sign up for the "plan."

Where do loser school boared members come up with this crap? Is there some kind of club ya'll join tht doles out advice to school boards? What kind of dolt says up pr & forget about really helping kids?

Please, there is so much reteliation and bitterness between these board members, what about the ethics charges against Kurdell, that should bring some great PR, and if Falleiro has a member tased by security each week that should help raise their PR ratings, or television ratings...

Typical Faliero - never mind really improving the way you work, don't bother actually learning Robert's Rules so you don't look like such a doofus. Then, when that passive-aggressive management style blows up in your face claim it's a PR problem.

Well, Darling Falerio, perception is reality. After seeing what goes on by watching board meetings, we can all see where you and the board could improve. Communicating is just one part of fix to mess.

If only the entire board was like Griffin, we would all be better off.
