They can't tell us at what time, but the public information officers at the Florida Department of Education can tell us that school grades and adequate yearly progress reports for all our schools will be released Thursday.
Many school officials have been trying to figure out their ratings based on the reams of FCAT data already released over the past several weeks. Now they'll know whether they're destined to get recognition funds (less per student than last year) or more oversight.
We'll bring you the info as soon as we get it.

We already were fed bologna with the Newsweek rankings this week. Now we get another giant serving with the farce of school grades.

These funds dispersed on the use of a faulty indicator would have been a great cut. What a crock.

The sad part is that they can get recognition funds (even for being an A school) and be noted for MORE oversight because they didn't make AYP. In fact, MANY schools that have made an A for many years, have NEVER made AYP, but they now will be under the same sanctions as Title I schools have been for years.
