In following newly adopted state law, the Pasco school district will launch a local K-12 online school when classes resume in August.
Pasco is accepting nominations for the virtual school's name through July 2. And it wants some different ideas than the usual historic figures and places. As the news release states:
"While schools are traditionally named after presidents, outstanding educators, community members, time periods, regions/neighborhoods or geographic landmarks, this school is unique in that it will meet and be administered completely online. As such, we welcome you to suggest names that reflect the distinct and innovative nature of the school, as well as the fact that it will be available to students countywide."

I believe they SHOULD have this in Citrus County. If I am not mistaken, the new state legislation requires all districts to have Virtual K-12 as an option for students.
Anyone confirm that?
