This morning’s editorial in St. Petersburg Times:
Closing the achievement gap in Pinellas schools between black students and their peers is in everyone's interest. It will take considerably more effort and resources, but the problem is too urgent to ignore. Now a new agreement provides a chance for a renewed commitment to closing the gap, and the School Board should embrace it.

the achievement gap never will be closed.
even the article yesterday pointed out it would take 75 YEARS for it to happen!
too much taxpayer money down the drain.
face the facts folks. Not ALL kids are college material and in fact many don't even want to go to college.
The US must follow the European tracking method (college prep/technical/vocational/alternative) otherwise China and India will OWN us in ten years!
Obama is on the right track by pumping billions into community colleges. This where most kids will be going in the future.
