2009 Florida State Seminoles football countdown: Boston College
We're counting down to the 2009 Florida State Seminoles football season, which starts in less than two months. We're taking a daily look at this year's opponents. Today, Boston College.
Oct. 3: Florida State at Boston College, TBA.
2008 records: FSU 9-4, 5-3 ACC; BC 9-5, 5-3
Last meeting: Boston College beat Florida State 27-17 Nov. 15 in Tallahassee.
Eagles outlook: Frank Spaziani becomes the third BC coach in four years after Jeff Jagodzinski got fired for interviewing with the New York Jets. (Jagodzinski landed as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator.) The Eagles are without both players who started at quarterback last year, Chris Crane to graduation and Dominique Davis as a result of academics. The team took a more severe blow when LB Mark Herzlich, the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year, was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a malignant tumor most often found in bone or soft tissue.

Start your tomahawk chop and give us your war cry. The Seminole report is written by FSU beatwriter Brian Landman and the sports staff of the St. Petersburg Times.
