2009 Florida State Seminoles football countdown: BYU
We're counting down to the 2009 Florida State Seminoles football season, which starts in less than two months. We're taking a daily look at this year's opponents. Today, BYU.
Sept. 19: Florida State at BYU, 7 p.m.
2008 records: FSU 9-4; BYU 10-3
Last meeting: Florida State beat BYU 29-3 in 2000.
Cougars outlook: This shapes up as a real challenge for the Seminoles. BYU is aiming for a third-consecutive 10-win season. BYU has holes on the offensive line, replacing four starters, but QB Max Hall is a star, throwing for nearly 4,000 yards, and RB Harvey Unga has a pair of 1,000-yard seasons. BYU also has a strong defense led by All-America candidate DE Jan Jorgensen.
