Florida State football practice -- Day 2

Florida State hit the field Saturday morning, a quick turnaround after practicing for the first time on Friday night.

"I thought they handled it pretty doggone good,'' coach Bobby Bowden said after the 2 1/2 hour in sweltering heat.

The good news is the Seminoles have Sunday off (for media day, pictures and fan day), giving them roughly 45 hours between practice sessions.

///

For much of the spring and summer, the Seminoles' wide receiving corps was the source of so much uncertainty. Taiwan Easterling was coming from Achilles tendon surgery, while Richard Goodman, Bert Reed, Rod Owens and Cameron Wade all faced criminal charges. But Easterling has come back (a story on him is in the works so check back here on Sunday) and in the span of a mere days, Goodman, Reed and Owens all had their cases resolved. (Wade appears heading for trial on his misdemeanor battery charge next week).

Said offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher of how the receivers look today: "They’re out here and all that’s behind them. You know exactly what you’ve got so you know how you want to develop it and which way you want to go with it.''

///

As he does every year, Bowden said his seniors would join him for dinner at his house on Saturday. I'm still waiting for my invite.

Bowden's gut is so big he can't even see his toes. He must constantly stuff his mouth full of food.

Nolen99

Bowden's fat belly plastered across the media just brings more shame and embarrassment to our school. Bowden must eat over $1000.00 worth of food every week!

jd-nole

It's a wonder Bowden hasn't had a massive stroke or heart attack yet as his heart must have to work tremendously hard to pump blood through his massive waste line. I bet Bowden was the first one in line to get food tonight ahead of the seniors and probably ate anything they didn't.

KnoxNole

I wonder whose gut is bigger, Bowden's or Maryland's Ralph Friegen?

Only Nole Here

Got money that says these last 4 comments were all the same person. Sad how long they stayed on the page

Second Nole

I concur......(okay, I'm the same guy)

Jerry

You guys are right as Bowden's body is woefully out of shape. As a doctor I would recommend he lose 100 pounds as soon as possible as he probably is already battling sugar diabetes.

pedro

Knoxnole, put me down for Bowden's gut being bigger. It's sad for him to have all the advantages of athletic training free at his disposal to use anytime and he obviously doesn't take advantage of it. Bowden probably struggles to get in and out of a chair and I imagine his heart beats twice as fast as a normal person's.

tombeltran071

You guys are right about Bowden as he truly brings shame and embarrassment to our school just by the way he looks. I wouldn't doubt that Bowden weighs 250-300 pounds and will probably keel over from a massive coronary any time. Bowden's heart right now is probably screaming ' Help me ' and ' No more food ' right now.

Noles Own You

Saint Bobby is a legend. UF will never have one. holla.

A E Banks

UF = 3 national championships in football
UF = 2 nc' in basketball

fsu = 2 nc's in football
fsu = 0 " in basketball

Well... A E Banks, Nolen99, jd-nole, and Knoxnole are all posts from the same IP address.

Nole Mercy

sad that haters have to personally attack a great coach. Sports is just a game fellas and you give the real gator fans a bad name.

No case, baby

You remember the 2000 Sugar Bowl with VT's Michael Vick. That was that unreal FSU team that went wire to wire, undefeated #1 . WOW, with all those crooks and hoods over 150 years of footie-ball - UF STILL HAS NEVER DONE THAT. Man, that feels great. "HE SHOOTS - HE SCORES!!"

'gator nation' is one big jort wearing myth

RLNole

ROFLMAO! This are great quotes on Bowden, by far the funniest I've ever read!

Tony

What is wrong with you? Haven't you noticed that your team is good right now? Why do you feel compelled to make comments like this? Go back to your own page and enjoy the good times, they won't last forever.

Tally Champions

The noles football team is rising fast. Really love their direction under fisher. Look up QB EJ Manuel. watch out.

A E Fatty

Please don't tell fat jokes! waaaaaa Waaaaaaaaaaaa. Eating more of your twinkies will cure that FSU jealously.
