Florida State center Solomon Alabi on preseason watch list for Naismith Trophy

Florida State redshirt sophomore center Solomon Alabi, who looms as a potential first-round NBA draft pick if he builds on his freshman season, is among the 50 players on the preseason watch list for the Naismith Trophy as college basketball's top player.

The list includes a number of ACC players -- North Carolina sophomore forward Ed Davis, Georgia Tech junior forward Gani Lawal and freshman forward Derrick Favors, Maryland senior guard Greivis Vasquez, Duke junior forward Kyle Singler, Wake Forest sophomore forward Al-Farouq Aminu, Virginia sophomore guard Sylven Landesberg and Clemson senior forward Trevor Booker.
