Storm set to begin training camp
One football season is over. But don't panic, another is about to begin.
The five-time world champion Storm open training camp Monday at the University of Tampa with a roster of 37. At the camp’s conclusion, the roster will be cut to 24.
Some of the names in camp are familiar. Some are not.
The vets include All-Arena receiver Lawrence Samuels, Rookie-of-the-Year quarterback Brett Dietz, record-setting fullback Torrance Marshall and touchdown-leading wide receiver Terrill Shaw.
Local rookies Terrance Royal (LB, 6-3, 270, South Florida, Wharton High), Tyrone Timmons (WR, 6-5, 225, Mississippi Valley State, Tampa Bay Tech) and Bryant Tisdale (DB, 5-9, 190, UTEP, Dunedin) are among the group of newcomers who hope to land a spot.
