Briggs’ mountain getaway
When Storm defensive lineman Tom Briggs isn't playing football, he often heads north to do a little hunting. Briggs' family owns a 400-acre patch of land about an hour south of Buffalo near the New York-Pennsylvania line. His father and grandfather hunted on the land for years, then one day just decided to buy it. "It got to a point," Briggs said, "that we wanted our own spot."
Briggs mostly hunts deer and bear.
He says the spot also serves two other purposes: It's a great place to bond with family, and is the perfect spot for some offseason conditioning.
"It's got some really steep hills," he said.
Briggs said the biggest deer he has snagged was a 7-pointer. And for the record, he does not wear hunting fatigues.
