Storm OL Kenyatta Jones arrested
Kenyatta Jones, a starting offensive lineman for the Storm and former USF Bull standout, was arrested early this morning and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, obstruction and trespassing. Times reporters Nicole Hutcheson and Bill Coats report that, according to Tampa police spokeswoman Janelle McGregor, "Jones was standing on the dance floor at the Blue Martini nightclub when he attempted to urinate on the dance floor." You can read the Times' story about the incident HERE.
This is not Jones' first brush with the law. While in the NFL in 2003, he was arrested for scalding a roommate with hot water. Jones pleaded innocent to charges of assault with intent to maim, mayhem and battery with a dangerous weapon, but according to the Washington Post, "received a year's probation from a Massachusetts court." A month after the incident, the New England Patriots, whom he had previously been a starter for, released him.
Three years earlier while at USF, Jones was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed firearm, a felony, and resisting arrest without violence, a misdemeanor. At the time of the arrest, Jones said the gun wasn't his. He told the Times last month the charges stemming from that incident were later dropped.
"Our official stance is, we're going to let this play out (legally)," Storm coach/general manager Tim Marcum said Monday afternoon. "We're having our people, our sources, look into it,"
If the team determines Jones won't play Saturday at Columbus, it could possibly activate Emmanuel Akah from Injured Reserve or sign Geir Gudmundsen off the practice squad.

Sounds like he needs a 4 year stretch in pink bloomers at Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Feel-Good Inn.

When you gotta go, you gotta go...
How drunk do you have to be to pull that stunt???

What a sicko. the Storm should release him immediately. These star struch athletes think they are primadonas. there are talented sports people who would give anything to have a shot at stardom, yet these losers continually get themselves in trouble. I guess we live in a tolerable, forgiving society.

I have to give credit where credit is due. PFT.com comment by Eric: "Maybe he could join the TNA wrestling circuit and form a tag team with Najeh Davenport. They could call themselves “#1 and #2.”
Classic!

It was dark in a NIGHT club how could anyone have seen anything at all. I think a little logical thinking could have come into play with security. Besides why were they watching so closely?

People are so quick to judge! That's is not what happened. I'm not saying that a lot of them have not made stupid decisions before, and recieved a slap on the wrist but, don't believe everything you read. Because, he is an athlete and a black athlete they are going to make sure that this reaches the media immediately. Why would he urinate on the floor in the middle of the club, and he was with people. Stop trying to make examples out of people and seek the truth before posting false information. The bouncers of the club were wrong and went the situation improperly. However, the truth will prevail.

Lets face it.. Blue Martini is all hype. The place is terrible. Poorly ran and a snobbish type of atmosphere. I tried to get in with my parents when they were in town to visit and was turned away because I was wearing converse chucks... So naturally we went right next door and spent $300 that night. But meanwhile they will let thugs in like this who apparently meet the "dress code" and urinate on their floor. My advice to everyone is AVOID BLUE MARTINI.

Were you there, mysterious? If not, then how are you able to make all these assumptions? Check your facts before posting. The guy seems to be setting a pattern of bad behaviour and bad choices.
